Made a stop for the 2nd time on our way to the Eastern Cape and the service gets better and better, the host Costa is very helpful and the ladies who served us breakfast are super friendly and professional.. Rooms were clean, place is very safe for kids.. Will definitely stay over again
This is the first place I have ever been and had to cancel my reservation and leave. It’s appalling. The room. The fridge is noisy and doesn’t work. It was warm. I moved the bedside table 15 cm to find a plug and the leg fell of knocking the lamp to the floor accompanied with plastic shards of the lining. I checked the other lamp and clearly by the missing sections of fire proofing lining this was not the first time. There is no safe. There are large stains on the carpets. I didn’t even get to the bathroom. There is a patched section of wall that’s cracked all over with stains showing. The pool is green and you can’t see the cleaner unit. It’s in an area behind an informal settlement. I had to link to 4 Uber drivers to get out of there as they kept cancelling. The common areas have the same tatty old carpets, old furniture.... They rate this 4 star 😳 It is truly awful and I don’t believe it’s worthy of 1 star.…
This is my third visit to the beautiful guest house and so far the place has just been amazing and good to me. The staff are very friendly and Costa is an excellent host. The breakfasts and dinners they serve are amazing. Lovely atmosphere - would not say that you are in the middle of Johannesburg. I definitely recommend this guest house :)
This country house shouldn't be rated 4 star. The rooms are old and need of are revamp. Food was average , and getting to the place was a serious risk, unfortunately you need to drive though a squatter camp to get there. When you pass over the river it smells of sewage, and the river is at the bottom of the property. Only up side was it has an electric fence around it, although talking to the guard he said that they have cut it numerous times.
The owner/host, Costa, went out of his way to make our stay special. He allowed us to stay a bit beyond the check-out time and even made a provision for some lunch for us. Lovely gardens. Room is well insulated and stayed cool and there was a ceiling fan, but there's no A/C.
