My husband and I absolutely love Westmoreland Lodge and the staff (Promise, Precious, and Belinda). The rooms are clean and comfortable; the staff is friendly and so helpful; they have everything you need or will help you get it; and the breakfast is awesome. We probably spent at least a month here, and I enjoyed meeting all kinds of different people and spending time with the girls. 10/10 recommend.
I stayed there for over 2 weeks. The manager was very friendly and the rooms amazing! Very clean and wide space in lovely decorated rooms. The people who lives there is are very nice and friendly. I felt welcomed as if I was a family member. People from all over the world stay there long term, because it is very close to the Scientologist Church. It was a lovely experience and I highly recommend it.
This is possibly the worst b&b I have ever stayed in anywhere. We requested a move from the original room allocated due to a steep climb for my pregnant wife up an unlit path with low, overhanging branches, but primarily because the main bed had rodent droppings on the top bunk (I later saw a rat run from under the room). The room we were moved to was noisy all night and had a glass wall shower with a PIR light directly outside that lit up the room repeatedly throughout the night allowing us no sleep. Worst of all, the bed sheets smelt of stale urine. The staff were unreceptive to our complaints and just laughed when I raised them.
Everything happens slowly around this lodge and very casually. The family cabin we used was spacious but the lace curtain on the windows and doors meant less privacy. The shower was not up to scratch. Gives value for money though
We stayed here for 3 nights. The room was nice. It had its own bathroom and fridge which was good. There is big communal kitchen/dining area where you can cook etc. Although we didn't really enjoy our time in joburg, partly because we got jumped and felt quite unsafe everywhere we went. The accommodation we stayed in was nice and the staff were very friendly!
