Detailed Reviews
I wanted a bed to sleep in, and that is what I got.
It is a oldish house, with many rooms, converted into a guest house.
My room, bath room and linen was clean and practical.
Willem the host, was friendly and helful, even to get ice for our drinks. His wife was not well, and he did everything himself.
If you want luxury, this is not for you.If you only want to sleep, its ok.
Average in all aspects. But not expensive.

We stayed at Bedrock B&B for 2 nights... The owners was helpful and willing to accommodate a additional large group of people on very short notice on the second evening. The children was happy and exited to sleep on bunk beds.
We will certainly stay there again.

We booked a 3 sleeper, expecting 3 single beds as per the room shown when booking. The Double and single was ok, bu the quality was dismal. Very old mattresses and shoddy decor in the self catering apartment we used. It was ok as a cheap place to sleep over at short notice, but if you have time, there are much better establishments.
It could do with better mattresses at least for a decent sleep.

Bedding was changed. Thanks for nothing by telling me you had a lovely stay and then write something else for everyone to see. How can anyone believe you?

My friend tried to book a room and was told there were lots of rooms available, when she tried to confirm an hour later, they couldn’t get through.
She arrived with her husband and 2 year old daughter at 8pm and the owner didn’t even open the gate and instead shouted across the lawn to ask what she wanted.
They were then told there are no rooms available and they need to leave when the place was clearly empty.
It’s unfortunate when the owner can’t tell you’re coloured over the phone. Shame.
From reading the other reviews this place looks trash anyways, take your money elsewhere.

So sorry you could not find me on my cell that I carry with me. How can you tell from the street the place is full? If I had to raise my voice it was because you can not heat me talk. Standing in the street, never talked or seen me, you judged me to not to be colour blind ? Most of our guests are not pure white and they made a confirmed booking before arriving at a decent hour.

The B&B is run down. The owner changes the price as he feels. We were quoted one price and upon payment we where told that this room which the owner gave us was more expensive without prior info. The room is very old fashioned without any extras amenities.

If a price was given to a guest and he/she arrives much later than what was promised and the room was taken the guest has the option to take a room that is available or choose other accommodation. If no deposit was paid, the room can not be kept for maybe arrival.

The review from Maki V was written by my daughter. She didn't pay for her stay at the guesthouse and she was actually my guest.
The Bedrock guesthouse is not a five star guesthouse, and the tariffs are charged accordingly.
We were 14 desperate people that had to suddenly find accommodation, late on a Saturday, after we missed our plane. The owner did everything in his power to find each of us a place to sleep.
Our rooms were clean and practical with enough blankets to keep us warm in the icy Bloemfontein. If necessary I will definitely stay at the Bedrock again, because it was very affordable.

Speechless (this was all I wanted to post, but Trip advisor did not want to accept it)
There are many short comings.
I am not happy being here.
Low low budget
Small smelley empty fridge
Old furniture
Thin pillows
Uncomfortable beds
Cracks on the walls
Not over friendly staff
Not guest house material.
It will accommodate a big family.
We ended up here because my sister booked and apparently the rest of the city was fully booked due to an art festival.
2 of the baths in the guest house is out of order, but one wonders if its maybe because Bloemfontein is having water restrictions. It does not scetch a good picture.
If you are totally desperate to sleep somewhere safe and easy to find...this is your place.

Most guests compliment us on the comfort of the beds? Fridge is empty to accommodate everything you want to keep cold. Door open if no guests in room to keep it fresh - not smelly. Beds have a thick and a thinner pillow to accommodate everyone taste. Long time drought cause a crack in one wall that was repaired as soon as possible. Normally staff are friendly with guests. Depending also on how guests behave.
