Thankfully we packed our own pillows and towels.
That should some up the review.
If we were able to rate the location separately it would be a 4.
The bed is literally a normal double bed with undersize bedding.
Some maintenance is needed in the room we stayed in especially the bathroom.

Room Tip: The bed is small. Bring your own towels. Breakfast was good though so book that.

We stayed in the boutique and the self catering units outside. Both were pleasant. The self catering unit is spacious and well equipped. The boutique rooms were great (very appealing). The Male staff at the facility are excellent (polite and efficient). They could improve on their breakfast, it took too long and was quite dry. Apart from that I'd recommend.

I am a travel agent and booked my client at the City Living Boutique hotel for the night of 08 September. I prepaid the booking.
I received a message from the client the morning o 09 September and I quote:
I changed three rooms with no luck
Dirty carpet
No hot water
Last room dirty bedding
Terrible
Unquote
So I contacted the hotel and spoke to the same person that made the booking. I asked if they would be willing to refund the client in view of the above, as the client refuses to pay me. Well it is now 17 December and despite many emails, many telephone calls with continuous promises of a refund, nothing has been forthcoming. I got the same line every time, that the request for refund has been escalated to the management and that they would process the refund.
This just proves to me that they do not care about customer service at all, no apology from management, no refund.
I will never book anyone at this place again. Not because of the client's complaint but because management has completely disregarded my request and I the travel agent have to carry the loss.

I booked 2 Rooms at the hotel from 19 March to 22 March 2022 for my wife, daughter and Myself! Upon arrival we found that there was no water after speaking to the staff it was clear that they did not have backup water tanks and could not assure me as to when the water would be back! At this point I told them that we are going to dinner and if the water was not back when we get back we wil be forced to ask for a refund.

When getting back from dinner there was water after inspection of the room we found the laundry and towels to be in a horrible state dirty and the towels were torn in both rooms, in my daughters room there were rotting teabags in the kettle. At this point we Decided to find another place to stay!

After months of trying to get my refund I have now decided to name and shame City Living Boutique Hotel in Bloemfontein! I will not be referring anyone to stay there! On numerous occasions I have asked to speak to the owners only to hear we are not allowed to give out there contact Details!

the morning fish oil smell it is horrible, and the top window in the room is scary... and brings morning light harshly. For a so called Boutique hotel, they do not have most of the needed services, like no ice one needs to go out and buy at the nearest garage.

The old white lady at reception kept on speaking to us in Afrikaans despite me repeatedly saying, we don't speak Afrikaans. Also this thing of being expected to carry ID's on us is very old fashioned. The walls in the rooms are probably too thin you could hear sounds rom other rooms easliy

I was not impressed with this hotel given its rating. They do not serve breakfast, a small take away parcel is offered instead. Maintenance generally is below standard with a lack of attention to detail. Nobody was available on check out to assist us.

Upon arrival there was a note apologising for various issues including cleanliness and lack of maintenance. If I had known this when booking I may have made a different choice. Guests were noisy without consequences from management which made sleeping difficult.

During the 2020 lockdown, I have been travelling for work as I am an essential services worker in Telecommunications. This has been a wonderful place to stay over at.
The room was clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. Peace and quiet throughout the evening and a warm room in a cold winters night.
