The place is a dump.Rude staff, they act as if you owe them something .filthy rooms. Manegment will not attempt to fix problems. They will laugh in your face if you complain. Pool reserved for whites only.

Terrible customer service especially by Resort Manager- the manager was very very rude and we had to go book at Sangiro Game lodge instead. The service at Sangiro was the opposite and very welcome. Would not recommend this place.

The resort is not on standard anymore. The campsite facilities are in decay. Loud music from day visitors. Not child friendly (see pics) Make very sure of your bookings as reception staff are not fully trained and are making double bookings. Blocked toilets and drains. Will not recommend.

Most beautiful place.... in your rear view mirror that is. All the “fancy” chalets and standard rondavels are stuck in rows with a view of the barb wire fence in the distance or the back (geyser and plumbing) of the next unit. Not even the more expensive units are even close to the river front. You’re literally stuck on the far corner of the resort. Time warp to the seventies at the restaurant. Very basic food and.... here it is , a steak, a crumbled pork chop, a chicken schnitzel, a chicken or beef burger... see I made it easy for you guys... I’ve had better at take away places. Friendly service though. The mosquitoes will literally drive you NUTS. No nets over the beds or mosquito screens on the doors or windows. We used half a a can of insect killer and waited outside for 30 minutes then attempted to sleep. What you get for what you pay does not add up. I love road tripping through the country and I will advise against staying here. Find a guest lodge somewhere else.

What a disaster. We used to camp there a lot over weekends. Each camp site has its own washroom area and they build a swimming pool at the caravan park, which is nice but day visitors have more rights than those who booked. They just totally took over the swimming pool area and later the caravan park with their loud music and did not leave until late.

We stayed here as a large group with RVs. The park is very clean and each camp site has its own washroom area. You can walk to the pool area which is very nice. There is lots of walking and hiking routes around the park.

We booked caravan stand G20 which had private ablutions and a huge carport. There is no grass under the carport for those who prefer some greenary. We were only there for one night and don't have kids so didn't venture to the pool, but when I went to the little shop for some ice, the public area had lush lawn which seems well kept. Their website doesn't recommend using the R213 gravel road when heading South on the N1, but we took a chance upon leaving to go home and found the road perfectly acceptable. Granted, we had a 4x4 and were towing an off road caravan. The road is slightly corrugated and may rattle your teeth a bit if you are in a sedan, but the road is definitely not impassable. There were no potholes...

What a dissappointment. Firstly, one of our family members passed away after we've booked, but they refused to refund us. The accommodation is not maintained-windows not closing properly, kettle is leaking, shower curtain moulded... Day visitors have more rights than those who booked. Pools are not filled up and baby pool is empty. Large pool as advertised on internet doesn't exist. Will never go there again!!

When we arrived there after a long trip we came to the entrance of Masselspoort. When we enter the office we where discussed about how we where welcomed! Rudle and disrespectful is a understatement, I never felt so unwelcome in my life! When we asked them if we could take your newly adopted puppy in they said no. We then asked for a refund and they replied us rudely with a no! After a trip back home to drop of the puppy we finally went back! We thought we will enter at the main gate but we entired through a creepy gate! We then had to ask for permission to go down the supertube where there was no lifeguard at side! The swim water was to cold and the staff was rude, and unhelpful! After taking a scroll long side the river we discover that there is toxic water busy leaking in to the dam, where it comes from we don't know! To be honest MASSELSPOORT isn't a save place for family and animals!!

I have been going to Maselspoort for many years, in different stages of my life - as a child with my parents, as a student, during my military training and with my own family. It remains a treasure in Central South Africa (Bloemfontein, Free State). This was my first time to go caravaning there and it was good! It's only 23km from Bfn and has all you require, right there. I'll definitely go there more often.
