Detailed Reviews
A fantastic stay at Arista guest house. The owners are warm and welcoming and go out of their way to make sure your stay is pleasant. The guesthouse is located in a nice suburb of bloemfontein and has all the amenities one would need while travelling. Bonus is solar power so no load shedding!

We stayed for 4 nights for our daughter's netball at Sentraal and it was wonderful. We were warmly welcomed and had nice conversations with the helpful hosts. Room and bathroom was beautiful and very clean. Nice beds ensured a good and comfortable rest each night. We will certainly book at Arista again and recommend it to our friends. Thank you, Jana Conradie

I stayed there for two nights and it was a Home away from home - and what a paradise experience in the heart of Katu. My stay was something I've never experienced before from a guesthouse. I was warmly welcomed and the food was excellent of highest standards. This was indeed a gorgeous place i thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I will absolutley recommend to visit Devosrus B&B Guest House in Katu .

Arista is a three star bed and breakfast with the nicest and most helpful owners. We stayed here recently over a weekend - they were so friendly and welcoming and went out of their way to help. Our stay was comfortable - the rooms have tea and coffee trays, a good selection of DSTV channels, good security and air conditioning.

Arista Guest House
The Arista is in a leafy residential suburb of Bloemfontein and is run by a South African and his very capable Belarus wife. The welcome is warm and friendly. The guest house purports to be luxurious which it is not. It is however comfortable. The rooms are rather rightly packed together and the dining room, looking onto a small garden and pool, is small. The rooms however are spacious and the bathrooms large. The furnishings and linen are acceptable but not of the highest standard. The breakfast was average. In one of the rooms we occupied, various electrical appliances had been plugged into one extension bank which hung dangerously on the wall and which tripped making he television and the microwave unusable. The room also looked onto the car park area and the dogs in the opposite property barked incessantly. This combined with the heat in the room (the air conditioner was not large enough to cool the room sufficiently) made for a less than average sleep. 5 kilometers from the guest house off the N1 freeway is a highly recommended attraction - the Cheetah Experience and this is unmissable.

+1
On a recent trip to South Africa, we were planning on stopping for a night in Bloemfontein and had no idea where to stay. So, I went to Tripadvisor and based upon the reviews, I gave Nic a call and booked our stay over the phone. And I'm really glad I did.
We arrived late after a 10 hour drive from Stormsriver Village, but no problem for Nic. He welcomed us into his home with shots of brandy for my wife, daughter and myself. Our room was clean, quiet and comfortable. After a couple of nights with no internet, I was pleased that free wifi was included. Parking is off the street and behind a gate so we felt totally secure. Breakfast the next morning was home-cooked to order by Svetlana. They even provided us with restaurant recommendations and things to see and do in Bloemfontein. We took advantage of both these suggestions and just an overnight stay turned into a very pleasant day.

We are extremely seasoned and fussy travelers with a 7 month old baby. From our telephonic interaction to our entire stay, nothing was too much for Nic and Svetlana. This was truly 6 star home away from home. The place is clean, modern and homely. The rooms are Fantastic, breakfast is divine. Most of all, they are friendly and so accommodating, from helping to sterilize bottles to escorting us to a restaurant. We even parked a trailer full of furniture and everything was safe! Thank you for this amazing experience. I strongly recommend that all travelers stay at Arista to enjoy the experience.

We were in this guesthouse while visiting family in Bloemfontein over Christmas. Svetlana went out of her way to make us comfortable. The large swimming pool was a big bonus for our kids and their cousins in the extremely hot weather. The tasty breakfast with generous portions kept the teenage boys going for the day. We shall return!

After travelling down from Plettenburg Bay, we had booked an air bnb which was unfortunately not up to standard.
We ended up calling Svetlana at 9pm asking for availability to stay the night.
Svetlana was superb! She accommodated all 5 of us in 2 of her rooms, met us to settle us in close to 10pm on a Sunday night.
The rooms were clean and comfortable which was just what we needed after a long trip on the road. She set up breakfast the next morning fit for a King just for us as we were the only ones staying at Arista.
Svetlana, thank you so much for your hospitality and kindness, we will be sure to make use of your guesthouse the next time we pass through.

Warm hospitality and largish rooms/bathroom with dstv and free WiFi provided at good value all tick the right boxes, however with just a few tweaks and upgrades could definitely gain an additional star or two, yet unfortunately as it is there are better options in Bloemfontein. Some simple things that just need attention and improvement : better situated tv which is too high and in corner, general upgrade of rooms and bathrooms as all just appears a bit dated, old and tired, same can be said for the beds, covers, furnishings and towels etc and major bugbear is the temperamental shower mix re heat/cold as well as lack of any pressure. Breakfast offering is good but again old type filter coffee maker doesn't shape up unless only serving American tourists at breakfast? Small improvements which could make a big difference but as it stands nothing wrong or bad re a stay but as said one can choose better
