We had a terrible time. The toilet did not flush. The Shower did not work. The linen was torn and broken. No WIFI in the rooms at all. It was a nightmare of a time. There was no waiters at the breakfast. NO cups to pour tea in just mugs. All the stuff was cold that should have been hot. Never again

We were one of the first guests to stay in this hotel when it opened and we have stayed here many times since. Every time we arrive it becomes clearer that it is going downhill fast. Old, dirty carpets. Aircon is ancient, makes a big noise but no cool air at all. Loungers at the pool are broken and severely worn. No food or drinks service at the pool, and the pool is dirty. This hotel is sn embarrassment to the franchise, I cannot believe head office is doing zero, despite many bad reviews and complaints. This was probably our last stay here after many years.

One would expect hot water in the morning when you pay this type of money for a hotel. Management did not even bother to contact me afterwards, even after I requested at the checkout desk for them to do so when they arrive on duty. Carpets are dirty and the airconditioning is very old.

Never have I ever stayed at a more filthy hotel. The carpets in the room were so dirty that if you walked barefoot your feet were black underneath from the dirt. After checking in at 16h30 I enquired if the bar was open and was told yes it was. 10 minutes later I called down to order drinks and was told that the bar was closed because the bar lady had been called to the casino. Eventually a gentleman from reception called back and tried to assist in getting us some drinks. The bed was falling apart and the bedside lamps were broken. We have been coming to this hotel for over 10 years staying on our annual vacation to Mpumalanga on the way up and on the trip back again. Well never again. I canceled the booking for our trip back and booked at the Protea Marriot with a much bigger room, fantastic service and exceptional cleanliness. One night and the Windmill Lodge R2 000. One night at the Marriot R940 with full room service and a fantastic restaurant.

at first the entrance and staff speaks of a five star hotel that what u should accept from the sun international group. but one started using the ammenities you can see the wear and tear and the outcry for maintanance. deck chairs are in a very poor state. swimming pool needs upgrade. the overall look of the lodge is in a very good condition though can use an upgrade.television in room are very small , snowed and rolled all chanels. complained about it..response was the busy fixing dstv. we did however enjoyed our overnight stay, with a nice room and clean linen.

Staff are friendly and I actually feed bad for staff that I am rating this lodge on the lowest possible bar. The room was not clean, the bed literally smelt of wee. The water was cold when we arrived so we could not bath - this was terrible after travelling. I have also never in my life seen such a small TV and worse the picture doesn't display it just jumps all the time. All round I would not recommend or be back.

Very average hotel at best. The poor staff are trying their utmost to make the experience as pleasant as possible. However, I get the feeling that the systems and management are failing the staff. Lack of cutlery in the breakfast area (R 175 per person), painfully slow internet, business centre computer does not work, noisy aircon, small little flat screen TV with very limited channels and you don't know what channel you are on except for SABC channels and no fridge. Felt like a budget hotel and most certainly not a Sun International hotel standard.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Airconditioner didnt work. Room looked old and bathroom needs upgrading. Was a bit pricey for what we got. The gardens and pool looked very well kept. We didnt eat at the hotel but chose the Ocean BAsket which is a short distance walk . The cars can be parked at the back in a secure area.

Rooms are big but tired. Needs to be overhauled . Aircon at its coldest didnt cool down the room. Bathrooms need to be refurbished and the shower trickled water. All in all a sad experience for R 1300.00 per night Over priced hotel.

The restaurant is neat and the welcome very professional. However they organized a concert with the music so overwhelmingly loud that you couldn't stay in your room. When that finally stopped you hear the noise from the highway. I do not recommend this hotel.
