The location of the place was just perfect for me ,place was clean and welcoming... Communication between the rooms and reception is not possible because there's no phone. When I arrived no orientation whatsoever was given by the receptionist in terms of Wi-Fi, communication. First time I had to physically go and ask about the TV switch; second time I left the room again to go and ask if there's a Wi-Fi connection. The third time I decided not to ask about anything because I felt I'm being taken for a ride as a guest. No pamphlets whatsoever to give any form of information in the rooms. It is not a lost course, you can still improve, however, you need to visit other places to learn.

We stayed over at Adelante recently for a weekend. The guest house ticked all our boxes. Staff and reception very friendly and helpful. Rooms were comfortable and very clean. Rooms offered a small fridge, which was a bonus. Location great, close enough to walk to the Mall.

I'm happy with how I was treated and even after I missed my breakfast they accommodated me. Your hospitality is out of this world. The breakfast times need to be communicated with the guests as they are checking. Sometimes we tend to sign without reading especially if one had a long drive like I had. It is proper to just inform them without relying on that they know what they signing for.

Tranquil and private abode. Very professional receptionist, Amo took time to show me to the room and assist with the settings of the aircon on that very cold Free State afternoon. Friendly kitchen staff who serve very homely meals with a smile.

Please try and fix the air-conditioners on some of your rooms,i slept in room 1 and 6,i struggled to warm up the room as it was only cold air coming out.Otherwise the place is perfect and closer to malls and transport....

I was part of a group staying at the Adelante Lodge and was appalled at the manner in which we were addressed on arrival as well as during our stay by both the receptionist as well as the owners. Our group had booked 17 of the approx. 19 rooms for our stay of 4 nights, we were "told" in no uncertain terms what the rules are and we are to keep to those as there are VERY IMPORTANT guests staying at the lodge in the other 2 rooms! At the time of booking this accommodation we did mention that we are a large group and would like to braai and make use of the kitchen facilities etc. there will be guests having drinks and was assured that that will not be a problem. However on the 1st evening at around 10h00 the owner called and threatened to call the police to the lodge if we don't stop immediately. The entertainment area was left in perfect condition as promised after the evening, however the next morning the owner's husband or co-owner called again informing us that we should leave and he was preparing a refund as we speak!!! The lady that made the bulk booking on our behalf then informed him that we will do so if he can find us accommodation for 17 families which he obviously could not do as Bloemfontein was hosting the Grey Tour that week and was therefore fully booked everywhere! He made a comment that the guest were being watched remotely and having one shooter after the other and his lodge is not a pub! In conclusion said that we are going to have a very unhappy stay for the remainder of the period. Breakfast booked was disgusting, half cooked scrambled eggs, some guests were not served the same breakfast as others - they ran out of certain foods etc. When asked to refill the perculated coffee we were told that they only make once! No power during loadshedding - 4 star establishment!!!!! Bathroom door in my unit could not close Bathroom very outdated Huge stains on carpets in our rooms Receptionist at the front desk sitting with a large bag of chips at 9h00 in the morning attending to guests with dirty hands. Two days in a row my coffee and mild was not re-filled and I had to ask I was given milk in a small milk jug the one day and the jug was not removed the next day, I asked the cleaner why she has not taken it out or re-filled the coffee etc. and her reply was she thought the milk jug was mine!!! Well I will bring my own milk jug from Gauteng to the lodge. Perhaps the owners should use their remotes cameras to watch their staff instead of guests…

We would like to express our gratitude for taking the time to write your review and providing us with the opportunity to clarify our noise and party policy. We are committed to offering a comfortable and enjoyable environment, ensuring a good night's sleep for all our guests. Our guests hold great importance to us, and we consistently prioritize their comfort. Unfortunately, we cannot compromise on our noise and sleep quality rules. Our noise policy is clearly stated on all our quotations and check-in forms. On the day of your arrival, which happened to be a Tuesday, a weekday when guests staying at the lodge had booked for business purposes and had to work the following morning, there was a simultaneous arrival of 17 families. As it is our standard practice, we informed the group that we would be checking them in on a room-by-room basis. We walk each guest to their rooms, provide instructions on operating the air conditioning and televisions, and highlight our 24-hour reception service. Regrettably, some members of your group expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that one reception desk couldn't check in 30-plus people simultaneously. We had communicated our house rules in advance, which typically include no noise after 20:00. However, we made an exception and agreed that your group, being responsible parents, could utilize the facilities for a braai until 22:00. We were assured that the group would be considerate towards our neighbours and other guests. Nevertheless, what ensued was a full-blown dance party with a sound system and multiple cooler boxes filled with alcohol. By 23:00, we had received complaints from two neighbouring establishments threatening to involve the police. Despite numerous requests from the duty manager to conclude the party and reduce the noise level, the drinking and noise persisted until after 1 am. Recognizing that it was futile to reason with individuals who had been drinking since the afternoon, we decided to address the situation in the morning. The owner contacted the group booker the following day and reiterated our noise policy. The group booker acknowledged that she had no control over the group and anticipated that they would continue drinking and partying every night for the remainder of their four-day stay. The option of a refund via instant EFT, with the possibility of booking elsewhere, was declined. During breakfast, we offered different menu options to accommodate the preferences of various individuals in your group. We always aim to be flexible and accommodating to our guests. Eggs are prepared to order, and the kitchen would have gladly made it harder for you if you had requested it. We have a gas for the kitchen and implemented a solar and battery system which allows us to keep the essentials running during continuous eight-hour load shedding periods (without sunlight). These essentials include WIFI, charging points, reception services (computers, card machines, CCTV, and phones), exterior and interior lighting, electric fence, and gate motors. We believe this offering surpasses that of most bed and breakfast establishments, and we are diligently working to enhance our self-sufficiency in terms of electricity.
