Anything went smoothly during our stay, from check in to breakfast next morning and check out. Staff is friendly, helpful, accurate and well trained.
Especially the receptionist that had a long nightshift (surely longer than 12 hours) was super friendly and wonderful. The place is very secure, the guy at the gate was there immediately to help, smiling and explaining where to park (we had a trailer with us).
Only one little negative point, signage to the rooms is not existent and a fire exit was cable ties. Therefor a 4* rating only.

I checked in for 2 nights, on my arrival the service I received from the reception desk was excellent. However, I was not happy with my room. Most lights were not working, the extraction fan in the toilet was also not working… lastly the bed sheets and towels did not seem clean.
And also the breakfast eating area is too small, not accommodating all guests.

On 23 Februray 2023, I was woken up at 01:35am by what sounded like my door handle being forced open. However, fortunately for me, the individual could not gain entry into my room because I had blocked the door handle with the ironing board the previous night (see pics attached) as I had noticed two male foreign nationals directly across my room and I felt unsafe as a woman traveling alone on business. After I woke up, I was unable to fall back asleep because of the commotion in the hotel passage. Between 01:35 and 05:00 there were multiple people walking up and down the hotel passage (both men and women talking), doors opening and closing multiple times the whole night and people laughing. This experience was very disturbing and scary for me at the same as I felt unsafe.

. I am not sure what kind of guests they cater for but they are not the respectable guests which I have encountered on many occasions during my work travels at other hotels.

I usually stay at the Protea Hotel , Willowbrook across the street but decided to try a new hotel this time and I never experienced what I did last night. I was traumatized to say the least. I had planned to check out of Aha Hotel at 06:30am to board my flight at 07:20 but ended up leaving at 06:00am because I could not wait to leave Aha Hotel as I could not stand being there a minute longer.

I trust that my colleagues will be spared the same unpleasant experience which I went through in future.

The location was ideally situated close to a mall. Easy to get to the highway and night life. Many restaurants close by. Breakfast had fresh juices yogurts and cereals. They also had coffee and eggs and bacon.

Accommodation, safe parking exactly what we require for a Business trip, however spoilt by unfriendly, surly and unhelpfull staff at reception. Again breakfast was met with same surly staff. Not even a good morning. On our question on how to order food last night all we got was an abrubt answer of go order online, only after our stay we realised that there is an lounge area.

We stayed for 2 nights. The rooms has a miffy unclean tinge to it. This place lacks general maintenance and simple attention to detail and definitely general housekeeping training. I reported the hairdryer not working on day 1 and security came to "wiggle" the plug and then he left apologizing that it's broken. No one came back during our stay to replace it or attempt to fix it. The plug socket in the wall was loose and coming out, very dangerous. The linen doesn't smell too fresh, especially the towels, they have a very strong odour. The only really nice thing was the breakfast packs that we received both mornings as we had to leave by 06.30am and these were ready on time and very decent packs.

The feel of the hotel is lovely and staff are friendly. However, if your hope is a peaceful night's rest after a day of travel this hotel won't be offering that. Mattresses and pillows are hard as rocks and the noise levels experienced within a room is rather unpleasant. No sound proofing done, so you hear everyone talking in the communal areas and they have music playing from 06:00 - 22:00 which also echoes into the rooms.

You will also be sitting in the dark during load shedding. There are emergency lights within the rooms, but they do not have generators which I was surprised by as load shedding is not a new problem and I have never experienced this when staying in a hotel.

Staff are friendly and professional, and booking in and out was handled well. Breakfast was plentiful and had a lot of variety. Security was good and location with regard to shopping malls is excellent. Bed was comfortable ,and room was clean. A bit of wooden room furniture is due for replacement. Good overall experience.
