Detailed Reviews
The driveway to the house is your first notice that you are climbing the mountain, at the top of which you are greeted by the cliff face like facade of the building. The general area and reception is right on the top floor where you are treated to spectacular views from the wall of windows. The decor is luxury rustic and beautifully well designed. The rooms are all spacious and very well appointed with a/c in all.
There is an honesty bar in the general area, which has a limited variety to select from but for a sundowner there is sufficient to choose from.
The staff are all friendly and helpful at all times.
As a bed and breakfast the selection is excellent and well presented.
The costs are also well inline with what one would expect to pay for this level of great accommodation.
Well worth the effort of the stairs when you can sit on the balcony next to the plunge pool and enjoy the sunset.

Room was clean and comfortable with all the amenities you could possibly want, great views from some not all rooms and from the dining and pool areas. The breakfast served was full house with juice tea coffee, cold and hot courses, the owners were very friendly and helpful. Lots of stairs for those who battle with stairs but this is what gets you the spectacular view. Safe and secure in an upmarket neighborhood

We recently spent two, separate, nights at Franklin View Guesthouse while travelling on holiday. We had stayed at the Guesthouse previously and we were pleased to find that it was as good as ever. We enjoyed Gustav's hospitality and generosity as well as the comfortable accommodation the Guesthouse provided. We took advantage of the offered evening meal, which was excellent on both occasions. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the delicious breakfasts while taking in the wonderful views from the breakfast room. The Guesthouse is very well situated for travellers passing though Bloemfontein and we shall certainly return to Franklin View Guesthouse in the future.

Gustav was the perfect host and made my daughter and I feel incredibly safe and welcome.
We had a room with a beuautiful view, access to the kitchen and pool area after hours , via a biometric system and a delicious breakfast to start our day.
Think Austrian Ski resort but in Bloem.

My wife and I booked in at Franklin View Guest House in Bloemfontein the afternoon of 19 Feb 24, staff was friendly and informative. The check-in was a greeting and handover of keys and information was shared, as quick as that. We asked for recommended places to eat, and was given options plus places that had specials, all very close to Franklin View Guest House. The car park is big enough to cater for all the cars, and is safe. After dinner we had sundowners outside on the verandah overlooking the views and then retired in a lovely and very cool / well designed suite. In the morning, we sat down to a very enjoyable breakfast, included in the overnight stay rate that is good. Most enjoyable experience and will definitely visit Franklin View Guest House for all our future overnights.

I spent an overnight stay at Franklin View on my drive from Cape Town to Johannesburg. This was my second stay and I am pleased to recommend it. I particularly appreciated the view from the property and the early breakfast that was arranged for me so that I could get on the road.

I travel extensively throughout the year, generally for work purposes, and this must be the finest establishment in Central South Africa, situated amongst the rocky outcrops in Bloemfontein, this gem with it's incredible owners & management team is something special. With its largely off the grid Solar Powered operation, with Wi-Fi, fine spacious rooms including a variety of pillows to accommodate the fussiest sleepers this guest house is a MUST if you're visiting the area. Last but not least, the pricing is amazing for what you are getting. Thank You and Safe Travels Mike B, from Gauteng

This is the second time we stayed at Franklin View. The experience was the same: comfortable, spcious and clean room with a magnificent view over Bloemfontein from the balcony. Breakfast, prepared by the owner's wife was tasty and fresh. The host, Gustav, was friendly, helpful and professional
