My company booked this hotel as it was one of the few that had internet access. They try hard but the place is a bit of a dump. But you get what you pay for, it was something like $50 USD a night.

Rooms are dumpy and my front door wouldn't open or close without a body slam. The rooms all smelled like cheap air freshner and cleaning products. The shower was "european" so I had to sit to wash. I wish I could say it was the first time. :P

Try to stay somewhere else, but if you have to it's not terrible. I've stayed in worse places in much nicer cities.

Go to Cubania for dinner.

We attended the Prayer day in Bloemfontein on the 22nd of April, we booked an overnight stay at the Stanville Hotel. The first impression upon arrival was that the Hotel itself was neat and their staff very courteous. Our luggage was immediately attended to and we were directed to the parking lot below. The parking space however is a bit limited.

We booked three double rooms and a single room. The rooms were very spacious, clean and sufficiently stocked with coffee and tea and toilet necessities.

The food and refreshments that were served during dinner was well prepared and served (especially the dessert). The following morning we enjoyed a rather large breakfast before departing.

Overall we had a pleasant stay at Stanvlle Hotel. The staff and management were always present and visible and always made us feel comfortable. The food and accommodation was excellent and we will definitely visit the Stanville Hotel again.

I don't understand why the hotel is a 3 star hotel because that is misleading. The parking is creepy, bedding was filthy, had white spots on it. Tableware is chipped. The place was stuffy. Please stay aware from this established.

I don't know why they say it's a 3 star hotel, it's doesn't even deserve to be a one star. The whole building is dirty & garbage is stored in front the reception door. The food is the nightmare some of my collegue got sick due to their food.

Corridore smells, metsl fans on a low level,no shower when we requested it,no soap, old tv,no fridge(bar fridge atleast),why put a phone in a room when it doesnt work at all...? I feel robbed. Protea hotel price.

This hotel does not deserve a 3 star, its way below this. The corridors were smelling cheap cigarettes, the place looks like a dump. It is very noise and the underground parking looks like a derelict building. the balconies are dusty you cant go there barefooted. My advice is that stay away from this hotel.

The website is totally misleading. The basement parking is dark and dirty. One cannot park your car outside as beggers and drunk people swarm your car as you stop. The room we had was very small. The area is unsafe. Only SABS 3 worked. We refused to stay there and took our business elsewhere. Prepare yourself for total Hotel Hell!

I was pleasantly surprised when I checked and found the rooms very warm and Cousy. The atmosphere that the staff created made one feels at home away from home. Would recommend it to anyone and the prices are very affordable.
