Our second visit to this wonderful guesthouse within 4 months. The roast lamb dinner went down a treat. Riette went out of her way to help us find our butterflies and offering advice as to where to see the birds and dragonflies. She is so passionate and knowledgeable about all aspects of her farm. And then it so nice to be able to sit and enjoy the silence and beautiful karoo vistas.

Our family of 4 had a wonderful stay here for 1 night and greatly appreciated Jan and Riëtte's hospitality. Our cottage was very comfortable and our hosts provided a delicious "Self-Braai" pack with everything we needed for a barbecue supper. Our two kids loved playing outside among the large trees and beautiful gardens. There was also a little swing set for them to play on and we had a nice swim in the pool. Breakfast was also amazing! I hope we will get a chance to come back and would highly recommend this B&B to other travellers. Of note, do not take the gravel road off of the R701 as the last part of it is closed. Google maps will steer you wrong! Take the short gravel road to the guest farm off of the R715 instead, when you see the sign for the guest farm.

My second stay at this lovely Bnb. Friendly welcome, farmstyle food, comfortable rooms on a working sheep farm. Walks available and it’s a restful quiet break from a long journey. Owner was accommodating to my dietary requirements.

This is a convenient stopover for the long car journey between Gauteng and the Cape. The place is situated on a 12km detour on the R715, a surprisingly good road. The last kilometre on the turn-off is on a dirt road. If you can afford the time, visit nearby Bethulie, where during the Anglo-Boer War the British built a true-to-type concentration camp for the families of their Boer adversaries. More than 1,700 women and children lie buried here, mostly children. Our cottage was rather small and basic – as one would expect from most South African farmhouse accommodations. The simple evening meal was called at 7pm sharp. The host did his best to palm the guests off with alcoholic drinks, albeit at an affordable price. The mini-fridge pay-as-yo-use in the room was also well stocked. Breakfast was served at 8am, with no leeway given; not ideal for weary travellers. The only warm dish consisted of scrambled eggs. On a positive note: the Garingboom (meaning ‘agave’) sheep farm is an oasis of stillness. We saw cute little meerkats (suricates) from our veranda and equally adorable dasssies (rock hyraxes). The bird life is prolific and the hostess knowledgeable. For the fit traveller, there are several walking trails, making a two-day stay worthwhile

A truly delightful stop over in a very clean and comfortable chalet. Jan and Riette were great hosts making us feel most welcome. We enjoyed both the trails and the tasty breakfast and look forward to our next visit to do more birding. Can highly recommend.

Charming farm BnB off the beaten track. Spectacular karoo landscapes, peace and quiet and charming character. A working farm and the lamb supper is a must. Well equipped cottages. Very friendly hosts make you feel right at home. Our third stay over and one we will repeat time and time again. Very reasonably priced.

A little hidden gem on a sheep farm. One of our most favorite places we have had the pleasure to stay at. Stumbled upon it when we needed a place to stay for a night, and now we can't wait to go back for a longer visit. If you love peace & quite with farm land to explore then book your next visit soon. Many outdoor activities and bring your own mountain bike to enjoy the trails. You can hike and view some game. Food is home cooking and just beyond amazing. Affordable price and the owner and his family loves sharing stories with you. Family friendly.
