My family stayed here in 2018. We where all chatting now & I just remembered I hadn't reviewed this place. Coming from PE we needed a place to rest at so at 8pm we found this place. A side note of the main route back to Durban. It was very well kept. The night manager was also very calm and friendly. My mother and I got the strawberry lips room and my then fiance took the red square room. Both where neatly detailed. The floors where heated which was a bonus since it was winter. The kitchen was closed by then so we booked in and found a Kfc to get food from. Overall so far the stay was going OK considering we had been to look at 3 horrible bnbs just before we got to this one. What I'm about to say next though might seem a bit twisted. We ate, Showered and everyone left to there rooms tired and ready to catch some winkeye. Little did we know how strange the night would be... In our room my mother and I said goodnight and went to sleep however something woke me up at around at around midnight. Looking at the darkened room I realized we weren't alone. There where 2 men in our room! Both burly body building type blokes. They where talking and trying to get our attention. Freaked out and in a dazed state I caught my senses and switched the light on only to see there was no one but mother and I in the room! Boy did I think I was crazy until the next morning when my fiance came barging in at 5am. He wanted nothing more than to leave asap. We had a shower and rushed off like the devil was chasing him. We didn't even get breakfast. As we drove of he explained why he was so adamant to Leave. He had a visitor in his room also. Only this one couldn't be seen only heard walking in the room thumping around. He said every time he'd put the light on the thing would stop and once the light went off it would walk and drag itself around near the couch again. He even checked outside but nothing was in the entrance or by the yard outside. Subsequently he decided it would be best for him to stay awake. Overall I wouldn't stay here again based on what felt like haunting. However I'm sure if it wasn't for that I'd stay as the place is well detailed and maintained.

Great ambiance. Love the decor and how each room has it's own personal decor theme and style. Great attention to detail. Quirky in a really good way. Personalised attention, and that breakfast omelette.....

You don't know what to expect here, especially as you navigate towards it. But it is a pleasant surprise. Cheerful, funky, welcoming. Got a warm welcome and tour. We explored our surroundings including a wine glass chandelier. Although modern, it's very comfortable. Slept well. Good breakfast and lots of friendliness. Would definitely go back.

If we paid a quarter of the price, I would have looked at this as an interesting experience. However, we paid for excellence and received indescribably bad value. The decor is cheap, garish and repulsive. The room and dining room were unpleasantly cold (the air conditioning made no impact). The service from the receptionist was friendly, but the offerings poor. The dinner was healthy, but cold and tasteless, at the price of a really good meal elsewhere. In sought after holiday areas of the same country, we received unbelievably good value at the same price. I cannot recommend anybody visiting this place.

Arrived to a worn, shabby courtyard, poorly maintained. Shown rooms which appeared to be large and clean at first sight. Later, found rickety cupboard doors, rusty bathroom fittings, basin with impractical plug drainage. Asked for fresh milk to make tea with. Terrible! Room cold and barely warmable with aircon. no extra blankets available. Decor garish and disturbing. Breakfast room, cold, impersonal, unfriendly. Breakfast so called fruitsalad, all out of tins. common spoons for dishing, left to soak in common water dish. Asked for white toast, got brown, cold meat and cheese offering, disgusting.
