We were ungraded to an executive room, it was spacious with a large bath and shower which are in the main room with a very comfy bed. The hotel area is secure with a few decent restaurants within meters and breakfast had lots on offer. A good choice.

The first day of the night was much better, I had booked an executive room. The second and third night was terrible. There were people singing the whole night and making a lot of noise and it was unbearable. The morning breakfast food got to be finished very quickly because of the high number of youth that was there. I think this could be improved with better management if there is too many guest.

i prefer a room with a chair that has a back rest for proper seating when i do my admin work. a bar fridge is needed inside the room. On arrival after 14:00B, my allocated room was not yet completely made up and other items were still being prepared.

Impersonal reception, environment that feels unsafe. Room with bath in the room, not good for us, moisture in the bedroom (no ventilation). At breakfast (according to us locals) we think they went to mass on Sunday, the buffet was empty and was not replenished (only a fried egg was available). It was a pleasant stay.
Savoy is strategically placed with a shopping centre and a food court in the same complex. Everything one needs is close by be it medication, there is a pharmacy, booze, there is Tops at Spar.
Ultimately when you are about to leave Mthatha you just feel up your fuel at Total Energies in the same complex, you don't have to stop in town or on the way home for fuel.

It’s the ideal place to stay at when travelling, beds are squeaky, the door security metric was broken on all the doors I checked in the Supposed executive offerings. The staff was amazing they treated us like royalty, the room they gave was beyond our expectation. The food was excellent, I’m glad i stayed it was a wonderful experience indeed. Am sure I’ll be returning soon.

I was so impressed with the Hotel, the friendly welcome and the staff's helpfulness all contributed towards me feeling welcome there. Felt more like a motel than hotel.
Reception friendly and helpful.
Rooms on the small side but clean and comfortable.
Couldnt get into my room as the lock battery was apparently flat and had to walk the 200m back to reception.
Noisy as the soundproofing of the rooms leaves much to be desired.
Had to walk through conference decor and remnant chairs piled in the corridor to get to my room.
A big no-no for a stay-over for guests with disabilities - long distances to walk, lots of stairs and completely inaccessible rooms, so you will be stuck in your room (if they even have wheelchair accessible rooms). But not a safe conducive environment for guests using crutches or who have visual impairment either. And it wouldve been so easy to have designed the hotel more inclusive and universally accessible

Hotel is correctly rated 3-star, definitely not 4-star. It needs more maintenance as little things are not cared for, examples: a general re-paint of the buildings would be nice, some tiles missing on steps, shower heads gone, shower door sealing strip compromised, bathroom extractor fan very noisy, only one drinking glass in the room, and DSTV options limited. More attention to detail would make Hotel Savoy in Mthatha more attractive.

Yes we do have hairdryers in the new Exec suites and in the 3 star rooms. If not there, reception will ahve
