This was a one night stopover on the way to Port Elizabeth. St Francis Bay is a bit off the Garden Route but for the most part is an attractive town by the ocean.
The property was comfortable although the arrangements for getting in and out of the car park are strange, having to phone the owners and then wait for the outer gate to be opened. This took almost ten minutes late at night - a fob that activates the gate (as is found at most other places) would have been preferred. Breakfast was good and plentiful.

Together with my husband I've booked a last-minute stay in the St Francis Bay Lodge. Within 30 mins of our booking we arrived and everything was ready for us. The room we stayed in was big and bright, and the surroundings are very quiet so that was perfect. Breakfast was delicious and our hosts had a lot of information about the area, recommendations for restaurants and activities too. The lodge is easily accessible from the main road in St Francis Bay and has a pool too (which we didn't use because it is winter in SA in September), I can imagine that must be great in summer though!

We had a two night stay.

The welcome was warm and the room lovely, a great size with big bed, and a large mirror. There was also a very nice balcony.

The bathroom was in need of a mild hug, and in particular the lighting was wobbly.

We used the covered seating area, and the pool, both great. We were also shown where we could get fresh milk. One time we were sitting tea was offered and brought with nibbles. Not something you often get at this sort of accommodation.

Great breakfast both days, and nice and quiet at night. The positives far outweigh one or two very minor things.

Very poor service with rooms without aircon, dirty pool and towels. Limited TV channels. I wonder how they even managed to get their Star rating. I won’t recommend it even to my known enemies. The place is over priced for nothing.

The property was super neat and beautiful just like in the pictures as advertised. The Hosts😍, Petra & Greg, very friendly and warm. We had a great time, relaxing stay and space.

Saturday, Petra gave us breakfast vouchers to the Quaysyde Restaurant 😁. Later, we went to a Canal Cruise organised by the Hosts😁👌👌👌it was a bomb, we experienced the beauty of St Francis, Tyler the captain 😁was very friendly. He allowed us to play our own music on board. We danced, laughed, learnt about the history of the canal (tourguide by Tyler) and oh we also docked for a sight of the Private Beach. Also there Tyler gave us a bit of history of the private beach.

We had a super stay at St Francis Bay Lodge. I would go back anytime😍❤️

Easy stroll to a restaurant. We enjoyed the Craft Beer one behind the pizza place. Lodge room very comfortable, breakfast was great. Felt very safe in this location, good security and instructions from Pierre.

good value for money . Just one street back from main street . Lovely room size and good breakfast.
St Francis beach is now totally covered at high tide which is a problem for swimming. Town is still quaint. Two golf courses available

We enjoyed our one nite stay there. Room was clean and everything was good. a 5 minute drive to the harbor where the dining places are. Ate at Mauro's Italian joint and had a wonderful meal.
The lodging is down the block from a bar-which we did not check out- but it's a bit removed from other places so do not plan o walking around much to get anywhere.
