Beautiful restored old building with spacious rooms. Well situated close to sea and harbor. Quiet neighborhood with several good restaurants within walking distance. Traffic in the area is low and it was not difficult to drive in and out during peak hours.

The staff couldn't have been more accommodating. The facilities where very good, and the rooms very comfortable. The breakfast was whatever you wanted. It was kept clean and tidy. We had gone to watch cricket, and the ground was only 5 minutes away by car. Shame we were only there for 3 nights

We stayed in this B&B for 1 night. The rooms are located in older buildings that had been renovated and tastefully decorated. We had virtually a whole house to ourselves with fully equipped kitchen and lounge. In the fridge are a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages available. Our spacious room (Nr 9, opposite the main reception building) was on the first floor offering sea-views and views of the stadium toward the North. We had a bath-tub shower but there are a number of rooms with walk-in showers available. The bed was large and comfortable. Wifi was good. The breakfast selection was limited but sufficient and of good quality, the service friendly. Around the corner are many restaurants within easy walking distance. Overall we had a pleasant stay at a reasonable price. We can recommend this B&B and would stay there again.

We have spent 12 lovely days in this nice B&B of Port Elizabeth. The room with a long and beautiful balcony was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was rich and the persons who took care of us were very gentle. The only suggestion is maybe to add something sweet in the breakfast: eggs and bacon were really appreciated, but maybe a cake or some biscuits might also be preferred by someone. In general a peaceful place for visiting PE with its long beaches and the Addo Elephant Park!

The poorest customer service I've experienced during my visit to "the friendly city".
All policy and practice is in the interests of the staff - not the customer.

A designated 1 hour check in time in peak season!

No ventilation meant the room was like an oven. No air-con - maximum ventilation still didn't cool the room enough for comfortable sleep. It did cool overnight and windows were left open to keep it that way. When we returned, staff had closed all ventilation so back to an oven.

It wasn't possible to get the shower to hold a comfortable temperature - from icy to scalding. When this was raised with the manager I was told this was the fault of the municipality! In fact the problem is far simpler - antiquated plumbing and staff running washing machines at the time guests would be using showers.

The closing gesture was a curt knock on the door to demand we settle our bill. Check out at St Phillips is (apparently) 10.00am - unlike all our other local stays. We weren't told this - neither was it in the guest information booklet.

This property is not well maintatined and the management are not (in my opinion) well suited to the "hospitality" business.

First two nights here meant we could stroll to the various culinary nights that have turned Richmond Hill into the place to be in PE. Room 1 has a lovely balcony with great views and Rodney, Cynthia and Bubbles made us feel very welcome. Rodney saved the day by securing an adaptor plug to ensure Mrs C was able to fire up the hair dryer and get that hair under control. Priceless, as a certain credit card company might say. Lots of character here and Richmond Hill appears to be on the up with the likes of Fushin, For the Love of Wine and more. A little gem.

This is one of the best guesthouses that I have been at in the last few years. Amazing rooms and very beautiful interior design. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the balcony, and we walked to the bar from our place.
