It was a great stay at Forest Hall while we were on business. The service was great and friendly and rooms clean and beautiful. The only downside, is that based on location if you don't have a vehicle it is far from shops.- if you want to buy something to eat or drink. As a suggestion Forest hall should consider offering meals and possibly a bar or room stocked.

Forest Hall is a wonderfully situated guest house in Walmer with easy access to the rest of PE and outlying areas. The owners and staff are extremely professional and friendly, the accommodation units are spacious, clean and comfortable and the large garden is beautifully tranquil with secluded areas for sitting (and watching the occasional bunny hopping around). The food is extremely tasty and overall security excellent. This is such a lovely guest house and I look forward to returning for another stay.

This guest house exceeded our expectations. We were there with our 3 children and my elderly parents and the staff went out of their way to ensure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The rooms are large and very well furnished, and each unit looks out onto a beautiful, tranquil garden. The two resident cats are also pretty endearing!

This picturesque country house offers beautiful accommodation of a high standard set in extensive gardens. Add to this: two swimming pools, a tennis court, Wi-Fi, superb breakfasts and excellent service. All the facilities were spotlessly clean and maintained. My spacious bedroom was beautifully decorated with comfortable furniture and an outdoor seating area with a view. The bathroom was well equipped too. The mattress and linen were of high quality and the towels were soft and fluffy. Besides sherry, tea and coffee making facilities was supplied, plus gowns, etc. David Bolton is always hospitable, welcoming me like an old friend. The breakfast team members are friendly, professional and anticipated guests’ needs. Ideal as a base to explore Gqeberha from.

I so enjoyed our stay at Forest Hall Guest House. The gardens were stunning and the rooms were spacious and clean. It was a very cold weekend in PE and the rooms were kitted out with electric blankets, a heater, umbrella and hot water bottles! We made use of it all haha. I would love to go back during some good weather to enjoy the pool, gardens and pattio area just outside your door step.

What a fantastic place. Beautiful tranquil setting. The rooms are amazing with large
comfortable beds and lovely decor. Home cooked breakfast with lots of choice but best of all is the attentive service. Nothing is too much trouble from airport pick up to arranging dinner reservations and trips and taxis. It is lovely to come back to the
quiet after a long day out. I loved just sitting in the garden listening to the birds.

We had at great time at Forest Hall Guest House! My husband and I went to South Africa for our honeymoon and stayed at Forest Hall one night in occasion of our Garden Rout road trip. Everything was absolutely amazing. The owner of the guest house was very kind. Our flight from Port Elizabeth departed at 8 o clock in the morning, so we had to stay at the airport at 6 o’clock, she prepared us an excellent breakfast earlier. It was very kind and helpful for us. We definitely will recommend this Guest House to all our friends and travelers!!

The warm hospitality shown by Zoe and Pete as host is very warm and friendly. The room was fantastic with a beautiful bathroom. The location is excellent as it is close to everything, yet is a quiet suburb.

The breakfast is wonderful and the crumpets highly recommended.

is it within walking distnce of all amenities?
Answer from Elizabeth

If your main ambition is to drive to downtown and Donkins area, then this is not close.. I did not feel safe in downtown Port Elizabeth. Granted it was a Sunday morning, but the donkin reserve was littered with liquor bottles, and people sleeping it off. On a weekday, I am sure this would be a bustling downtown, but I left because of the liquor bottles, trash and plastic bags that were blowing around the reserve. As I travelled East towards towards East London, I did not stop at red lights unless there was traffic and just kept going because it was such an uncomfortable situation. this is local advice, and I took it, doors locked and Windows up.. 64-year-old female traveling solo
