We loved our one stay here in this 100 year old house with so much character and charm. Rooms were beautiful and large. Kids really enjoyed this place and we would stay here over any hotel in PE. Breakfast was also brilliant.
The rooms are gorgeous and spacious and accommodate every luxury you can think of. The staff are super pleasant and helpful and made our stay all the more pleasurable. To save the best for last - THE FOOD! Oh my goodness what a dining experience. I'll definitely be returning!
This is the first time I stayed at Hacklewood Hill. I took my mom for her birthday and it was wonderful. The bedroom and bathrooms are large and comfortable - so relaxing. The dinner is amazing and the chef did a wonderful job with the cake baked for the birthday. Wynton was so friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.
Absolute bliss staying at Hacklewood. from the staff to the facilities, nothing was lacking. We were greeted and warmly welcomed on arrival, and on returning from our wedding, our room was turned down beautifully.
House really is lovely and historical with the wooden floors and antique furniture. But there are minor issues that hampered our stay.We stayed in 2 rooms. One of the beds were very hard to sleep on. Our bathroom bin had rubbish in from a previous guest. Our daughters coffee station was covered in ants hidden in the wooden box that crawled all over her arm on the first night and there were more walking around on her dresser throughout the stay. Her bathroom lights were very dim and the bathroom door handle fell off during her stay. The interior is a bit clutterred with too many little statuettes/fake flowers etc. It makes it difficult to find a spot to place your own belongings and the room looks too busy. Our ceiling in our room needs some repair work. Breakfast options were not what I expected but the croissants and granola pots were delicious. I did have to ask numerous times for milk with my tea on both mornings. If these small things are addressed and tended to, then I am sure the stay would have been 10/10. It really is a lovely property. …
Lovely setting and the decor in keeping with the period of the house. Staff friendly and accommodating. Monkeys in the gardens restrict the doors and windows being open which would ensure more fresh air in the rooms as it was very hot. The pool area could have more plants and seating available as is a focal point on a hot day. Fabulous wine list too!
Loved this hotel. It was in a quiet spot. Lots of old world charm, huge rooms and delicious food. I felt like royalty! We only stayed for one night and wished it had been more. Special thanks to Kerry for her welcome. We did find it tricky to find.
What an incredible experience to bring this year to a close. Celebrating all the important milestones of the year. Think this will become a regular "date"... highly recommended. Superb meals. Friendly service. An true escape from daily roles and responsibilities.
I booked a room for my now wife to get ready for our wedding day. From the time they walked in, the service was impeccable! The food was of the highest quality. Over it was an amazing experience for both of us!
The staff at Hacklewood were so accommodating when we arranged a romantic dinner and night's stay for friends who were celebrating their 15th Wedding Anniversary. All our requests were enthusiastically attended to and they went the extra mile with candles and rose petals in the Green Room, where the dinner was hosted, as well as in the Madiba Room, where the couple stayed overnight. I can definitely recommend Hacklewood Hill for any special occasions that you would like to celebrate in style with superb silver service. You won't find a better fine dining experience in this city.
