My short stay at the Lodge on Main was increadibly comfortable with all necessary amenities available at the property. I had a very warm welcome on my arrival and was asisisted with my requests. The hotel and my room were tastfully decorated with an attention to details which created a cozy atmosphere; the level of cleanliness was superb. My room was spacious and had a balcony overlooking the swimming pool that provided lovely views to enjoy at any time of the day. I would like to thank Hanri and his team for making me feel being at home.

I stayed at the guesthouse for 2 weeks on a business trip, the one week I stayed in the olive room and the other week I stayed in the baobab room. The location was convenient as it was close to the workplace and shops in the area. The receptionist was very kind and welcoming and the guesthouse was kept clean. It was also great that the wifi continued to work during load shedding. Areas for improvement are: 1) The bedding (sheets, pillowcases, duvet) and bath towels. They were no longer white and lost their quality, you can see from the appearance that they seem old and overused. As a guest it does not give you comfort that you are sleeping in clean bedding. 2) kitchen staff, whenever I came for breakfast they were on their phones, they saw me, continued on their phones and took their time to come and ask for my breakfast order, with a grumpy face on top of that. There were days when there was a coloured lady at the front desk/reception and when she was there, she would immediately come request your breakfast order as soon as you arrived. She acted quickly and was a friendly face in the morning. 3) Need to fix squeaky noises in the Olive room. When you open the doors of the wardrobe it makes noises and when you walk into the bathroom there is a creaking sound from the floor just before you step into the bathroom. 4) Attention to Detailed cleaning is needed. Especially those areas that one does not think of. The headboard of the bed in the baobab room was full of dust, dirt that just accumulates and sits on top of the headboard.

Dear Thembani, Firstly, thank you for your considered and constructive feedback. We sincerely appreciate it and the time you took to supply us with an honest review with points we can work on. 1) Our bedding and towelling is in fact new, we only use them for a 6 month cycle and then replace them. However, with our new borehole system, the iron levels were high and this affected the whiteness of all washing. We have installed a filter for this reason, and for your valued input. 2) We are sincerely sorry for your experience. And thank you for acknowledging Tahisha. 3) Sadly our Lodge is a 1900's heritage home and as such is creaky and old. This is part of the charm and we will not be changing it. We have padded, thick pile carpeting to ensure comfort, 4) We clearly dropped the ball on this one- thank you for bringing it to light. Once again we value your feedback and appreciate it. Guest house is very central and close to restaurants and shops. I had problems with water and couldn't shower one morning until we figured out how the water works. If the room next to me flushed the toilet or use the shower my water just stopped. Even when I flushed the toilet while waiting for the shower water to warm up the water stopped and only came back on a while after toilet was flushed. The rooms are well kitted out my carpets was just full of stains and the room had a very mouldy smell.

It’s a very nice guest house/boutique hotel and a lot has gone into it to make it so. However, there are a few things that need to be addressed to give it 5 stars. The bed could be upgraded. The toilet needs attention. Water just ran if you did not lift the handle. There was a lovely coffee machine in the room but no milk was provided. Unfortunately our sleep,was interrupted by noisy guests down the passage but this is not the hotel’s fault. The breakfast was lovely but I would suggest that the tops of the salt and pepper grinders be wiped clean from time to time. Staff lovely. Will definitely stay there again. I have been wonderfully surprised by this gem in Walmer, PE. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious. The staff was exceptionally friendly. Their top priority was to please the guests. My daughter and her husband came to visit on numerous occasions during the week and really felt welcome too, they even used the pool. I really felt like being at home. I would recommend this Lodge on Main to anyone Only missed my dog!

We had a wonderful experience staying at the lodge on main guesthouse,the staff and owner Hannes was super friendly and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. It felt like our home away from home. The place is beautiful, peaceful, clean and very secure. The staff really take pride in their work and nothing was to difficult to attend to our needs, and that speaks volumes to the way Hannes treats his staff with such compassion and respect. We had such a memorable time and are definitely coming back in the near future.

Clean & Professional. The room was neat, the breakfast variety was really good, the manager and staff were friendly. The only very minor complaint was that the Wifi was a bit weak in my room. Definitely would refer a friend.

It has taken me a while to review this establishment. Just as I reflect on it now gives me nostalgia,😍😌. Hidden in plain sight dressed in a very calm blue this home away from home definitely springs a beautiful surprise on you as you pass the threshold of the parking bay.
A warm and friendly welcome from the front desk makes one feel the warmth of being home away from home. The deco of the entire establishment will mesmerise you from deep within. Filled with artistry and pure elegance. Rooms named after trees removes the dullness of having to remember your room by number 💕 were always clean, fresh and with a well stocked mini coffee/tea station.
Located close to everything you can think of; restaurants, cafés, coffee shops, shopping centers and all within a walking distance.
Needless to say that this would be my home for all my visits to Gqeberha. I highly recommend them.
