Airport Road Lodge was as always excellent. We enjoyed our stay. The hotel was clean and the staff at this establishment is always professional and eager to help. They are knowledgeable of the industry and are willing to give very good advice to customers.
Stayed for 6 nights at very short notice after other B&B was no good. Amazing place.. clean, airy and light, small good condition pool outside and excellent security. Friendly helpful staff and rooms made up each day. Aircon was really good to have as was the laundry service. Breakfast ok - could be better but recommend the Lodge. Thank you.
The location of the hotel is a 2-minute walk from the departure entrance of Port Elizabeth airport. Security is good, rooms are small but very clean and tidy, bathroom towels are good quality and the rooms have air conditioning for hot days/nights. TV channels are limited but, in the age of Internet access and fast, reliable wifi access (which the Road Lodge has) this was not of concern to me. The reception staff were very welcoming and cheerful on arrival and departure and the security guard on duty overnight when I stayed was charming and very helpful with luggage trolleys.
The hotel has a perfect location , only few meters from the departures gates and the car rental returns. The rooms are very clean and everything is new and very rationally designed. The cost is very low considering the quality you get. If you have an early flight to catch, this is the place to stay. Friendly staff
Stayed at Road lodge for one night. There was no fitted bed sheet and instead they used a flat sheet, and ended up sleeping on the mattrass protector. Not happy with Road lodge. They were always the preferred place to stay.
Check-in was quick. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean but small. The bathroom was very small. Bed comfort was acceptable.TV was very small with limited channels. When we requested an iron board we had to fetch it from reception downstairs and pass next to the dinning hall where other guests were enjoying their breakfast. Breakfast was very basic. The hotel gardens looked good. Check-out was very easy.
The hotel is budget so need to expect budget. It is comfy but very tiny. We had to put one suitcase in the entry area (blocking exit) as there was no space. The rooms are neat and clean, breakfast was fine. Staff could be more friendly. But for the price, you can’t expect 5 star. Location is great.
Walking distance from the airport, very quiet in room. Stayed in room 126, small clean room but has whatever you may need for a one night stay. Not expensive , good value for money. Breakfast not included.
Pros Nice clean lodge to stay for one or two nights....clean, lovely breakfast and friendly staff. Cons Television channels....no CNN for the news freaks and 1920 TV's. Need to upgrade urgently!!!! Back rooms very noisy due to deliveries at night.....🙉
A great, inexpensive, comfortable place to stay, literally 5 minutes walk across from airport terminal. Perfect after a long flight. Safe, secure parking and super friendly staff. Big surprise this year was having tea making facilities in the room. Perfect! Small supermarket in garage opposite car rentals so you can buy extra bits and pieces. Excellent breakfast, buffet style, tasty and plentiful. Management super helpful with suggestions for day trips out and will organise safe taxis for trips into shopping centres if you don’t have a car. WiFi free and efficient. What more does a traveller want? Have already stayed there once this month on arrival in South Africa, and will be back next week for three nights when we do our Xmas shopping in PE before flying home.
