Excellent experience for me and my wife
Everything about our stay at the guest house was incredible. The staff was kind and helpful. The room was exquisite and have everything that we needed. The kitchen had all the basic gadgets gadgets for self -catering. The location of the Guesthouse is near the beach such that we could walk to and from the beach. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we intend to pay a visit again in the near future

The staff is very friendly and went the extra mile to ensure all our needs are met to make our stay memorable. The manager is also very accommodating, we made a mistake with our booking so she quickly made space available to accommodate us. The breakfast that is included is also a bonus!

This is our 4th year staying at the Russell. We needed accommodation close to Kings Beach as we were attending Lifesaving South Africa Nipper Competition 2023. It was such a Peaceful and tranquil experience, the Staff are polite and friendly and were able to assist with what ever we needed. We had such good rest that our boy was able to achieve the position of 3rd Top u12 Nipper in South Africa. We will definitely be staying at the Russell in 2024.

The place would have been perfect in terms of venue and location. The only few problems are as follows : the wifi was not working, there's no DStv in the venue. The cleaners never took out our rubbish bin. The fridge is located in the dining room given no sense of privacy to guests.

Was skeptical about the place but I made a booking anyway. The room was clean, had towels and toilet paper they don't provide shower gel which is not a problem for me. The breakfast was nice felt like we got more than we paid for.

The staff live in the house. We came down on a golf tour and booked four rooms. There is always a young child running around the house. One afternoon the child had a playdate and we had to ask them to please play outside as they were running around screaming. The fridge in the Kitchen was not working properly as well as the one allocated to us. We had a huge amount of meat that needed freezing as we were going to braai every night. The braai itself didn't flow well and the braai room was always full of smoke. The rooms have very light curtains and the rooms are never dark. You can see into the rooms from the outside when the curtains are closed. I for one will never use this BnB again and I would not recommend this place to anyone unless they get the above sorted out.

Room was great value for money, wifi was slow in my room, breakfast was set no options. Room was clean and it had a fan which came in handy in this heat. Great location. Room does not get cleaned every day I don’t know why or if that’s the guesthouse policy

My room was located near the reception area and the room had a sliding door which provided no sound proofing so I heard every interaction that took place including a guest banging on another door at 6.30am. The room was in need of a lot maintenance as the wood on the door frame was missing, there was a crack on the outside of the toilet cistern and water pressure in the shower was low. There was no toilet paper in the room and only one towel which isn’t great.

my stay was wonderful from making the making the booking, which was seamless, to getting the reminder on the day of checking in as my flight was running late. All the ladies from Admin / reception area to the Kitchen staff are friendly and homely, and they made me feel like family from day one. the Kitchen staff even assisted me with my outfit which was a fun experience :). Thank you so much Ladies for all your help, all your efforts are appreciated continue with the great work you do.

Unfortunately there was a school group staying in the same establishment, at the same time. They were extremely noisy. I sent a message around 8:30pm to complain, but only received a reply after we had left the following morning.
The self catering unit didnt have any teaspoons in the kitchen.
Room was comfortable and cosy, and there was decent wifi.
The lady at reception was very friendly when we arrived.
