Clean and very affordable. A little gem which is family-run so you get that bit of extra attention. Great place to stay as it's close to everything you need: the beach, restaurants and a great casino and shopping mall
Available accommodation includes dorms and double rooms

Myself and 3 other friends stayed over the long weekend there with them. Being a paranoid person i must be honest i felt safe wgike staying there, even when my friends left to go out. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and fresh. Must say to wake up in the morning with the sound if the waves and tge smell of the ocean was very relaxing. The view outside our window 😍Thank you all at Ikhayalam lodge.

We've been here for just one night which was a blessing. Owner was nice but our feeling was that he led his rooms to anybody and people around were asocial in a never seen way. When asking if they could be quiet at 1 a.m. they were aggressive. no way

My stay at this backpackers was unpleasant. The kitchen is very dodgy, the bathrooms were not very clean too. I also came home with flea bites. The guy who controlled the front desk was kind and accommodating. The cleaning lady however was rude and abrupt. She made me feel absolute unwelcome, asking me invasive questions about my stay, making me feel like I did not belong there. While walking into the house to take a shower, she stopped me and asked me very rudely where do I think im going. She made me want to stay in my room the whole stay just to avoid her rudeness.

I have to agree with the other 1 star reviews; there was a very strange guest at my hostel, which prevented me from sleeping. Later in the evening, he started walking around naked in the room, seemed suspicious, and started coughing like he had pneumonia.

Someone came in at 6AM and started shouting to wake him up. I stayed here, because it was close to the airport. I only stayed one night. Even if I had to fly out again, I wouldn't stay here.

And there's a strange sign that makes you put down a 300R deposit, because guest steal and don't clean up. I think that happens in every hostel, but I think the solution is to either (1) not let sketchy guests stay, or (2) the hostel has to be designed to house these guest separately from those genuinely interested in traveling.

Don't stay here. Not safe.

Good Evening Paul We would like to sincerely apologies for your bad experience at Ikhayalam Lodge, we cant not be held responsible for the actions of fellow guests. The nature of booking a dorm bed is different from having a private room. We at Ikhayalam do not like to discriminate between our guests as they all paying customers and deserve to be treated equal, as this can cause a lot of racial issues. We pride ourselves that all our guests are treated equally and we pride a safe and homely environment to them.

I had a great stay here at Ikhayalam Lodge in PE! Beautiful premises with an awesome thatched roof chill and braai area plus full kitchen comfy beds and pool table. One of my favorite parts though were the people, Kennie and Lester you guys rock and you made my stay amazing with the generosity and great tours in the area.
