Located in the centre of Plettenberg Bay, the newly renovated and now 4 Star Bayview Hotel is surrounded by vibrant shops, art galleries, nightlife and restaurants and is still within 800 metres of 2 of Plett’s 6 Blue Flag status beaches. Boasting 36-ensuite rooms, we are perfectly suited to families, local and overseas travellers, tour groups and business travellers. Nestled on the spectacular coastline of the world-renowned Garden Route, the Bayview Hotel offers breathtaking views of the Keurbooms River, Lookout Beach & Tsitsikamma mountain range. As one of our valued guests, our friendly and professional staff is sure to make your stay an unforgettable experience, for which we recommend an (absolute minimum!) of 3 nights to explore at least some of Plettenberg Bays’ endless activities and adventures. We are only a 7-minute drive from the (must-do!) Plettenberg Bay Airport, and +/- 1 hour from George Airport and are the perfect halfway stop between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth.

Detailed Reviews
This review is long overdue.
I have frequented the Bayview hotel many times over the last decade; and in my opinion it is still the most comfortable, well located and great value for money option when in Plett.
The hotel has recently undergone a renovation, its great new modern decor and room layouts add to that holiday feel.
To the new management, I’m super impressed with the new look and layout.
I love the big shower.
The rooms are modern, with fridges and a TV, with a couple of movie channels to keep you entertained if the weather is bad.
Room service is not available in this hotel, it is centrally located on the Main Street which makes it easy to pop out and find what you looking for, it’s also a one to two minute drive at the most from either of the best two beaches in Plett.
You can walk down to the Main Street for either breakfast or dinner, with no shortage of options of places to pick from. Most restaurants/ shops are probably a two minute walk down the street.
The WiFi is free so for a “work from home” break, you have a desk and all the accessories needed to get through your work day before heading off to the beach for a stroll or some cocktails.
The Rooms have different layouts.
Some have a sea view; some have only showers and no baths; some have a private verandah area which is convenient if you travelling with younger kids. While the rooms have different rates, I have tried one or two other places in Plett over the years and the Bayview is still the best value for money. It might not be on the beach, but it’s close enough to and easy to get to everything within a short distance.
The location is super convenient.
I’ve stayed at some of the best hotels in the world, this hotel keeps me just as happy.
I’m glad the management have kept the old team; Soni and Amanda and the rest of the team are super helpful and go out of their way to make sure if I need something it’s attended to.
Even with the COVID restrictions in place, I had no issues with staying comfortable.
Thanks again for the great stay, I looking forward to my next visit.

A well located clean and neat hotel. Rooms were bright and appeared to be recently renovated. White Furniture , cane chairs and paintings of the sea gives the room a nice beach feel . Breakfast was average ...could have had a little more variety. But well served and good service all the same . Breakfast begins at 7:30 am which is a bit late in a tourist place where you may need to head out early.
Kelly at the reception was excellent and ever so happy to oblige to our every request with a smile .
From checking us in , changing our room , to providing us plates and cutlery , heating food that we got from the supermarket ...she was very efficient.
Overall a good hotel

Dear Navi, Thank you for your wonderful review, we really do appreciate the time taken out to give us valuable feedback on our hotel. We are sorry to hear about your breakfast experience being average. Adi's Kitchen have just today launched their new improved breakfast menu which includes some really delicious and health-conscious options. They are also happy to arrange (very substantial) breakfast packs for anyone wishing to leave earlier than their opening time of 7:30 am. We'll make sure to relay your compliments to the team, especially Kelly, and we hope to welcome you back soon for your next visit. Kind regards, the Bayview Hotel team

The Bayview Hotel in Plettenberg Bay is conveniently located on the main street, in close proximity to a variety of restaurants and shops, and a short drive from the beach.
The accommodation on the second floor is was more comfortable and includes a small communal outdoor area for sitting. All rooms are kept clean and offer comfort. During my stay, I had to change rooms due to availability. I noticed a different outlook from the room on the first floor. It's worth noting that the rooms and bathroom fittings seem somewhat outdated. One drawback was the room's position facing the street, which resulted in noticeable noise during nighttime hours. The hotel's restaurant, Adis Kitchen, provides satisfactory vegetarian and dessert options. However, the included breakfast could benefit from more variety.
The front desk staff are friendly and always ready to assist guests. Given the lack of Uber services in the area and considering the needs of guests like my mother, who found the walk to the beach challenging, it would be advantageous if the hotel could provide a golf cart or shuttle service.

We used this hotel in 2019 when we visited SA and were happy enough to use it again. We arrived without a reservation. No problem except the hotel could not/ would not match our price on Bookings unless we booked via Bookings which we did for 2 nights even though my wife was badly ill. The next morning my wife was unexpectedly admitted to hospital meaning I had to check out in a hurry. NO REFUND ABSOLUTELY NOT. on top of this in my panic I left my wifes rucksack in our room. Travelled 100kms then telephoned the hotel. They did recover and retain the rucksack but made no offer to forward it which in the circumstances was not good. On principle we will NOT use this hotel again primarily on their refund policy!!

Good Day Steve, Many thanks for your review; and for sharing your experience at the Bayview Hotel. At the outset, please rest assured that every guest communiqué is treated with the utmost priority; and your feedback regarding your experience will be addressed with the relevant team members. Your constructive criticism is certainly not indicative of the standards and service levels we pride ourselves on and endeavour to deliver, and we are committed to resolving the same. I must sincerely apologize for the inconveniences caused during your stay with regard to the manner in which your reservation was handled and the return of your rucksack. I will most certainly investigate this matter as a top priority and discuss the matter with the reception staff on duty. I hope that I can convince you to change your mind about another visit to our property as it would be such a pleasure to personally welcome you back to our hotel. Kind regards Tess, Sales & Marketing Manager Bayview Hotel

We were warmly welcomed and all Covid protocols explained. Unfortunately the restaurant is currently under renovations so will need to come back to experience that.
The rooms are spacious the decor is really beautifully done. Having interleading doors is great for families with children, whether young or older. The mattresses were a little soft for my liking, but other than that it was awesome!!!

We always try and stay at the Bayview Hotel when visiting Plettenberg Bay. Room are spotless, well appointed and you hardly notice when there is load shedding. Although it is on a main road, noise is not an issue at all, making its central location perfect. Staff are friendly and professional. Good restaurant in a light and airy setting. Highly recommend this hotel.

I will visit the hotel again and this time will be in the company of the family. The service and hospitality were beyond par. The air and the environment were really calling whether one is on business or pure leisure. The scenery reminds of a layback lifestyle. The town is incredibly clean and any visitor can become accustomed to keep it like that.

The hotel as a whole is great, but the Penthouse should not be qualified as a penthouse as the interior and kitchen utensils are not comparable to the rest of the hotel's interior. Old, worn furniture. Kitchen not quipped in line with self-catering standards.

Recently enjoyed a two night stay at the Bayview Hotel, we have stayed there before. Have to say that it has become our home from home. Staff are very friendly and efficient. We find the rooms very well equipped and covers all of our needs, beds are excellent. We tried Aldis Restaurant this trip for breakfast and we thoroughly enjoyed what they had on offer and reasonable as well.
We love the central locality and the security of their excellent parking, all in all we always enjoy our stays at the Bayview and thoroughly recommend them for a great night's sleep in Plettenberg Bay.
