Detailed Reviews
We stayed here on the recommendation of our travel agent, Audley Travel. Our room had a full kitchen, was super spacious and commanded stunning views. The furnishings are all top drawer and nothing has been overlooked. Really comfortable bed and plenty of space in to relax on comfortable sofa and chairs. The balcony is great for an early evening G and T.
Can't review this place wihthout mentioning resident pigs, Riley and Ruby. Most striking to meet a fully grown pig in reception, but all adds to the charm.
Breakfast and/or a sundowner on the veranda is not to be missed and there are trails to explore as well as short walk down to the lovely, calm pool area. You do need to be sharp to grab a lounger, but we were always lucky.
We took a taxi organised by hosts Brian and Liz, to Enricos one night - a brilliant experience eating right on the beach and very reasonable prices. Gerrie, our driver, was really knowledgable, polite and punctual.
They even washed our car before we left.
Highly recommended and we hope to return.

I booked my trip through an agent and when we arrived at Fynbos Ridge we were not disappointed.
Such a lovely old colonial style house set in amazing grounds . Walking though to the pool area it is gorgeous to come and to such fantastic breathtaking views surround by the beautiful "Fynbos " which is where it gets its name from. They owners have thought of everything in the room which even had a ironic board and iron ( a great bonus when you are travelling and living out of a suitcase ) . Host very informative on trips and the local area, the breakfast was lovely the best fruit salad I've had in a long time and the food freshly cooked. I can see why people return here year after year and some for months at a time.

Brian and Liz provide a friendly and personal service of the highest standard at this country house. We received an upgrade to a spacious cottage which included full self catering facilities, as well as both indoor and outdoor fires, and logs provided
Both the cottages and the main house are beautifully furnished.
Brian’s breakfasts are five star plus, with his fruit salad and cooked breakfast outstanding.
Laundry facilities are offered at a very reasonable cost and completed at a high standard.
All the staff are very courteous, and service the cottages, including setting the fires, whilst guests are at breakfast, and on the final day, wash the car for guests.
Fynbos is some distance out of Plettenberg, so a car is essential.
Brian and Liz provide comprehensive advice about the area and knowledgeable insights into local flowers, birds etc.
It is a perfect place to stay on the Garden Route.

Wow, what am amazing place - I am so glad our travel agent found this place! We only stayed one night and I was really sad to leave.
I'm not sure if our agent booked the lovely cottage we stayed in or we just dropped really lucky with it being available for the night of our stay, but wow, just wow, what an amazing place to stay! The views were breath-taking and the stars at night were like nothing I have ever experienced before!
The cottage was absolutely stunning! So well looked after, with all the amenities you'd need. It was so spacious and comfortable with such a huge bed in the main bedroom I got lost in it!
Open fires in the lounge and bedroom meant we could get really cosy and warm.
There's a pool with another amazing view but we didn't really get a chance to use it as it was a bit chilly!
The shower was amazing with brilliant water pressure and there was also a fantastic large bath in the en suite bathroom.
Brian and Liz were welcoming and really lovely and we didn't notice until we were driving away but someone washed the car for us and we didn't say thank you so sorry about that and thank you so much!
Location-wise, Fynbos is outside of Plettenberg Bay but it was perfect for us as we were stopping for the night on our way to the Eastern Cape. I do wish I'd have had more time there and will definitely think about going back in the future.

We were looking for accommodation near Plettenberg Bay for a sporting event and came across Fynbos Ridge Country House & Cottages. A spacious, stylishly furnished house welcomed us with a spacious room and outbuilding, terrace and view of the vast greenery, mountain scenery in the background, large grounds with a slightly hidden pool. The service was unobtrusively reliable, good and pleasant. The secluded but convenient location meant that many scenic and tourist destinations in the area up to 100 km away were easily accessible.

Don't drive miles off-road to find a tranquil, private piece of heaven amongst the majestic mountains between Plett and Knysna, look no further and book immediately. We stayed in the magnificent 2 bedroomed Clivia Cottage. Spoil yourself like we did. The value far exceeds the price you pay. Your Host Liz has thought of everything and her staff are well trained and very respectful of the privacy you are paying for. From the lemongrass soap to the rooibos toiletries and the home made cookies and superb luxury linen to the expertly crafted furniture and well appointed self catering kitchen, attention to detail is noticeable. Luxury fixtures are neatly complimented by vintage decor and modern features but nothing can detract from the main attraction - the views are spectacular from your bed! Do yourself a favour and take a short walk to the nearby bench on the edge looking out over the valley - breathtaking. Bird life and fynbos are abundant . The swimming pool was a big hit, clean and warm. If you have to go to the shops there are superb options within a 2 to 15 min drive and the beaches are less than 12km away.

It was so good to be back at Fynbos Ridge after a difficult year. We really appreciated the chance to relax in our comfortable cottage with its amazing fynbos gardens which attract so many beautiful birds. We also always enjoy Brian's breakfasts and this time we were even treated to a homemade Italian evening meal. We always wish we could say longer - but we promise to be back in 2021. Thank you Liz and Brian for such a stunning stay.

Liz and Brian are extremely courteous, very nice and helpful hosts in every situation. We are still raving about the exquisite breakfast. The Covid time has been well used to refurbish bathrooms etc and get everything in perfect condition. We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful house . We have been in the main house, which is perfectly maintained. The bar is perfectly set up. The room we had with the exit to the terrace was huge.

We had a fabulous 3 nights at Fynbos Ridge staying in one of their cottages with our 5 month old baby. The cottage had everything we could possibly have needed with a fully equipped kitchen and luxurious bathroom with robes. The cottage was cleaned daily and the braai was made up ready for our bbq on the patio, they even cleaned our car ready for our departure on our last day. Liz and Brian went above and beyond, ensuring we had the best stay. We hope to be able to return soon!

Perfect location inbetween Plett and Kynsa, Fynbos Ridge is an absolute haven. A beautiful property, in
spectacular peaceful garden and countryside , we could not fault it at all. Friendly hosts who made our stay perfect, we wished we had booked more nights ( we were there for 3 nights) as there is so much to see and do in the area. Thank you for your hospitality and the thoughtful attention to detail, yummy breakfasts, nothing was too much trouble. And thanks again for the surprise of the car wash! We hope to come back to see you again in the future.
