A lovely, relaxed, summer holiday spot with stunning views. The staff are friendly, the food fresh and prices reasonable. The outside seating area is highly recommended, even if you are not a resident, stop over, have a meal or coffee.
Arrived with high dreams&expectations, left - not rested and very frustrated. Positive: Stunning location, super clean & neat units, amazing business potential. Negative: No servise culture. In the restaurant waiter told me a couple of times: " Hey, what do you want?!" Green, slightly rotten tomatoes for breakfast and same green slightly rotten tomatoes in our burgers for lunch. During the lunch my husband had to run to call waiter 4 times, she never checked on us, never cleaned dirty stuff, and the restaurant was not even half full. Slow & chilled in a wrong way, Spur guys work better. Later we were told that they experiencing lack of stuff due to covid. But still simple: 'Good morning mam, how can I help you?' - would sound much better together with red fresh tomatoes ;) Cleaners are cleaning room after 2-3pm!! when we are back and want to rest or be in our room. So a couple of days we would come back and rested in a dirty room. After cleaning still no toilet paper, no garbage bag in the bin and she left her shoe cover next to my bed (: Ive asked for clean towels. The lady brought me two floor mats! I didnt know that so when I came out of shower I opened it and had nothing else to do as to use a floor mat for my hair and another one for my body!! Not a big problem but still on top of everything it was not funny. No list of phone numbers in the room, who can the one phone if we are in need? So you start with 15, then they send you to 19, then they send you somewhere else. No tea or sugar refill. In the evening we tried to have drinks at the sea lounge and enjoy live band. My 2 shots of Amarula were bearely seen and when I started drinking there were crumbs of something!!!!...... a lot of them!! Whatever it was it was a lot of crumbs and tasted really not good. But the most, most frustraiting: kids worker's attitude and absolutely unprofessional communication. When we entered first time she never greeted us or kids! I asked to explain how does the play room works on which got the reply: 'Sign there' that was all explenation. After signing I didnt have peace to leave as no one asked my kids even their names no one spoke to them or made any effort to connect with them in any way. So I stayed and did the ice breaking and tried to entroduce teachers to kids and kids to teachers, felt irritation in my direction but did it for my kids sake. We were told that there is kids program the whole day and we could spend time together as husband & wife but the lady from kids room told me to pick up kids in an hour after dropping. So we couldnt leave anywhere. Kids were on tv every time when we d come to check on them. Ive asked if its possible to may be turn the tv off on which she replied that the entertainment manager gets very mad when the tv is off. Ive asked for the manager but she said the manager is off. No desire to cooperate only was getting attitude after attitude, excuse after excuse. We travel a lot and leave kids a lot at play rooms, we know a good worker will do everything to not bother the parents when here she d phone us immediately requesting to collect kids if the child had little excident. What is funny the request was to collect both kids even though it was only one who hurted her finger, and other one was playing joyfully. The lady did everything she could to not look after our kids and the impression is like we were burdening her. So finaly We took kids from her, went outside and had a play day with them in the beach under sun, after that had time outside at swimming pool. ....just frustrating as I was told there is a kids program and we will be able to relax together on our own without kids. But as I said the facility itself is great and has great potential. Our parents have shares here, i wonder how to make myself to continue their tradition or should we start a new one at a new place? We left yesterday back to our city, will be asked by all our friends how was the Beacon Island..... What feedback should I give?…
We had a fantastic stay, but unfortunately my wife suffered food poisoning from their buttered chicken curry. We reported the issue to the receptionist as well as to mr. Abrahams, the manager. No excuse offered, no answer, no explanation up to date.
Beacon isle is a beautiful place but shoo the restaurant service is shocking .ond should not get such bad service from an establishment like this.others services are good especially entertainment.but waitresses need to be trained and be more friendly and helpful
We swopped our timeshare for this wonderful resort. All staff was friendly and efficient. We had one breakfast and 2 evening meals which were both very good. On Wednesday evening they had a fish and chips special when you received a free glass of wine, with your meal for R110. The views from our room were spectacular. I Will definitely try and stay here again.
