An unexpected short notice stop over at the Plettenberg hotel once again delivered on friendly staff who remembered us, a beautifully appointed room and views and lovely food. The renovated public lounge is just a joy to relax in too. A special mention to front of house, you girls rock and Peter our waiter at dinner- not often you meet a waiter with peripheral vision and able to multi task the needs of different guests simultaneously. Well done. A kudo to management for keeping the spirit and attitude of staff upbeat through tough times. We will be back.

This is our favourite hotel on the Garden Route. Everybody was exceptional. MJ, Wiida and the staff made our 3-night stay an absolute pleasure. Senior management's hands-on attention to detail was impressive to see and the staff were well trained and very friendly. We enjoyed all our meals in the hotel and they were all well prepared - breakfast one morning was a bit slow. Our private dinner in the wine cellar was very special. We were in suite 16 - could walk out of the door into the pool. Really nice large suite, beautifully furnished with a Nespresso coffee machine, complimentary snacks and drinks. Large, twin basin bathroom, nice rainfall shower with dressing room - floor can be slippery when wet! Stunning pool and sea views from the dining area as well as our room. This is a must visit hotel.

This hotel has it all. Tasteful and beautifully decorated rooms, impeccable service, a view that you cannot find elsewhere in the world. The restaurant is excellent, especially breakfast, and the service is 10/10.

We recently visited Plettenberg Bay for a few days of holiday and had made the decision to book four nights at The Plettenberg Hotel. Oh goodness, we were so happy we decided to book there, as we had the MOST amazing stay! Probably one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed in and we have traveled all over the world. Everything about this hotel ticks all the boxes. From the minute you get out your car and are greeted by the friendly security detail, to meeting the very welcoming and warm receptionist, you feel like you are in a world of old-fashioned charm and serenity. All the staff we encountered on our trip were amazing, with the manager, MJ, a breath of fresh-air and a bundle of energy and enthusiasm. The room itself, with a sea-view, was absolutely stunning. Very spacious, spotlessly clean (and serviced twice a day) with a super-comfortable king size bed and amazing pillows. The bathroom was lovely, with a beautiful rain shower. The mini-bar was complimentary and refreshed daily. The views from not only our room, but the hotel itself, are simply spectacular. We've been to Plett many times, but we fell in love with the town all over again, due to having such an amazing place to stay. The Lookout pub is within walking distance of the hotel, as is the little village. Ah, we simply can't wait to go back one day! I love, love, love this hotel.

Like everyone else in ZA, the Plettenberg Hotel is coping with the uncertainties of COVID. However, the individual service provided by this hotel is still first-rate. The current curfew complicated our check-in, and the general manager met us personally at breakfast the next day to ensure our expectations were met. This is an operation that pays attention to detail, and it shows. We’re looking forward to many return stays amongst the incomparable beauty of this property.
