This resort is well maintained and very full during the well priced time from mid January till mid February. It is predominantly occupied by pensioners which is really great. Rates are excellent and the ablutions are well maintained with hot water whenever one needed to shower. A real plus point.

We booked for a two-week caravan camping stay at this outstanding venue. The staff, from booking to departure was very friendly and helpful. Most caravan campsite are paved with 220 V electricity and a water tap. The ablution facilities are VERY clean and user friendly. Unfortunately, during our first week of stay the whole South African West and East Coast were severely "battered" by a very serious weather storm. Heavey rains and high winds were experienced all along the coastline. This campsite is situated next to the Keurbooms river and heavy rains in the catchment area caused flooding upstream. On day six of our stay, the resort management informed us to clear the camping area in danger of possible flooding. Management the offered all camper's labor assistance and a chalet, away from the river, for two nights with no extra charge, if you want to continue your stay. They also refunded payments if you desire not to stay longer. All we can comment is that the management of this resort is OUTSTANDING. I will definitely return to this resort and also recommend to all visitors.

We were booked in for a week at the Beacon Isle Hotel at Plettenburg Bay.
I was pleasantly surprised at the revamp of the entire hotel, as I was their many years ago.
The location of the hotel is really wonderful with sea views that are outstanding.
We had visits on our windowsill from curious seagulls gently cooing for our attention.
The lounge and sea lounge was amazing I could have sat their all day long just watching the waves crash on the rocks below.
The town itself we found was very expensive especially the boutiques and dress shops.
The bakeries served the most delightful cakes and pastries and we fell in love with the almond croissants they served, delicious! The courtesy bus took us into town and we had two hours to browse.
I will definitely be back, it was great and the staff were always very friendly. The rooms were very comfortable taking care of all your needs.

We stayed on the paved camping sites, at first a bit strange but you get used to the cleaner surfaces really quickly. If you’re a first timer camping on paving bring short tent pens too. We had a great time.

A well run and managed Resort. Great camping facility with good clean ablutions and a well maintained property. Even during a busy long weekend stay in a full campsite, ablutions were continually kept spotless. Friendly staff and we can highly recommend this facility. Great scenery and clean river was a delight.

A well maintained camp with beautifully grassed or paved sites. Centrally situated resort for sightseeing trips and availability of restaurants and shops in the vicinity. Ablutions were all exceptionally well laid out with shower glass doors instead of the horrible plastic curtains that cling to you whenever the hot water starts to run. The grounds are extremely well maintained. All in all a camping ground that I would strongly recommend

If you like camping along a beautiful river, under ancient tall trees, this is the right spot for you. Bathrooms are cleaned hourly if not more. Always immaculate. Laundry great. Kiosk very basic eg no washing powder or hygiene products. Close to big shops though. Rent a paddle boat per hour or a small motorboat for a day and braai alongside the river at one of the picnic sites with ablutions available. Knysna turaco and starlings entertain you at your campsite. We will go back for sure

This is an amazingly positioned campsite. Although costing pretty much the same as the cabins in the forest, the sense of place you get from being at the water's edge is definitely worth it. Campsites are allocated first come first served, so time your arrival to be around 11am and be prepared to wait a little to see what's opening up. The ablutions are neat. And although camping on a paved site (most of the water edge sites are paved) felt a bit strange at first, it actually works well. (I do prefer the bush ultimately!) Plenty to do in the area of course. And this is a good base to explore from. And lastly, I have never seen as many Knysna Turacos (prev "Loeries") so if you love them, or are looking for them, look no further.

Excellent stay /stopover...friendly helpful staff. Caravan stands well maintained, bathrooms clean. Stunning views on river...highly recommended. We see this as perfect family outing with lots of safe entertainment for children/grandkids and yet you don't get the over commercialise feeling and yet camping this close to the water is an privilege

My husband and I were there for our 9th year in a row for a month enjoying the Pensioners Annual Special. Thanks to management and staff for another great holiday and also for the "Pensioners annual braai" which is always enjoyed and appreciated by all. For the first time my husband won a lovely prize from the lucky ticket draw. Acquaintances have become friends
