No safe in the room. Property is gate locked at nite with no staff on grounds.
Not much in the way of soap or shampoo provided. Bathtub and shower were not in bathroom, but outside the bathroom.
It is located on a wetland so there are lots of mosquitos around. No screens on windows and no way to get fresh air unless the windows are open. Closed windows means the rooms heat up.
Shower door fell off in other bedroom we booked for family.
Staff were friendly.
I’m not too keen on properties built in a wetland but there was nothing else available.
Thought it was a bit over priced for what we got.
Only negatives where no a/conditioning- it was so hot and the fans provided did nothing to help other than make a noise The WiFi was no good ( I connected but so slow and therefore of no use) otherwise perfect. Staff very friendly and rooms where nice and clean. I would stay again in cooler months
Nearly everything is missing, no WIFI, no Safe, no Minibar, and a lot more was missing.
No breakfast was available.
No chance to buy anything to drink (water, Coke, Wine...) at this place
The rooms were old and not renovated.

The website does not even advise you right on top of the motorway!!! The photos are also absolutely misleading.
Staff super friendly and helpful. Staff are probably the only nice thing about this place.
Would give zero stars if that was even possible.
We checked in to the Plett River Lodge after paying a hefty deposit and arriving to be asked to be paid for the balance of our stay before we had even been shown our rooms. This was a sign of things to come: the owners are more interested in separating you from your cash than they are in making you welcome or giving you a decent stay.
Surprise number two: this hotel is ON - and I mean ON - the national road. Not "near" as the website describes. The artfully taken photos hide the fact that this is ON the national road. Wherever you are (on your porch, in bed with a pillow over your head), you hear the noise of passing cars.
The rooms were awful: my two sons (18 and 21) were given a room right on the gravel parking lot and next to the coffee shop. The door of the room had a panel kicked in (I can understand why) and the room itself was unsuited to sharing: the bathroom and the toilet had no door - they were open plan into the bedroom. This is pretty awful for anyone, but for two teenagers completely unacceptable. One teenager down - we sent him to stay with family elsewhere in Plett. One night in this noisy room and we lost the second son who also preferred to camp on the floor than stay in this hotel one moment longer.
My wife and I were put in an apparently pleasant room. We could deal a bit better with the open plan bathroom idea the hotel owners considered cutting edge. The problem was that the upstairs room had wooden floors. From 5.30 am the next morning we heard, in vivid detail, the occupant walking around, having a bath and chatting on her mobile phone. The amazing thing was that the manager of course knew this was a problem but "there is nothing we can do about it".
I won't even go into the awful thing that passes for breakfast or the undrinkable stuff that they claim is coffee or the ineptitude that passes for service. I will cut to the chase: we checked out and tried to get back the balance of our deposit, not least on the grounds that they had grossly misrepresented the hotel. Speaking to the manager did not help: "It is not policy so I will speak to the owner". (By the way, it is no wonder this hotel is so terrible: the mythical owners apparently never put foot in the place) I have tried in vain ever since to get the money back - several thousand Rands. Not a chance.
While I consider engaging the lawyers I thought I should do a community service and warn others of the fate that might befall them by checking into this awful hotel.
