From the minute we walked in the reception and restaurant service was outstanding.

The sea-facing room was smaller than expected and the bathroom was extremely small with the door literally opening onto the toilet (from the pictures on the website it seems the mountain facing rooms would've been a bit bigger or the layout would've been better?) but they were very nicely decorated and with great in-room coffee stations and other amenities.

The service at the pool was great but the service at the Sky Bar during the day was lagging as there weren't really barmen on duty and the waiters/barmen that were sitting upstairs were sitting at the bar (not behind the bar) on their phones. There weren't even cocktail menu's the afternoon we spent at the Skybar pool and the second day the cocktail barman did not arrive and we were not able to order cocktails as simple as a pinacolada :-|

I benifited from the discount voucher on Bargain Buys so for the amount we paid it was okay but if I had to pay the full price of R4400 per night I would have been extremely disappointed.

Sky villa was our choice for a 2 night stay in Plettenberg Bay as part of our roadtrip of the garden route. We chose it to have some luxury and ultimate elegance and sky villa met every point on our wishlist.

Things we loved:
1. The views are incredible. Whether you choose a mountain view room or sea view, you will not be disappointed. Sweeping panoramic views of the lagoon and beach and rolling mountain in the distance make you feel like you are staying in a cloud.

2. The food was delicious. We had dinner one night, basil pesto pasta with vegetables for me and hake and chips for my husband. Followed by dessert, creme brulee for me and chocolate volcano for my husband. Everything was made to perfection and full of flavour. Breakfast, which you order a la carte was also delicious. The vegetarian omelette and salmon eggs benedict are simply divine.

3. The room was sized just right with a comfortable bed and large private balcony to take in the views. A bonus is the availabilty of netflix, something i wish more hotels would start offering as you have endless options for entertainment if you need anything more entertaining than the beautiful views.

4. The layout of the property is made for complete chill. The pool area with lounge, firepit and impeccable service is worth mentioning.

5. The service was incredible from everyone on staff. We noticed that most staff members work throughout the property so the same staff member who checks you in, might be serving you poolside or in the restaurant and all with a smile and kindness.

Things that could be improved:
1. This is a complete nit picking technicality for me, but i am on the shorter side, just shy of 1.5m and found the mirror in the bathroom too high for me and the shelf in the shower was also placed way too high, i had to reach up on my tip toes for the toiletries.

Overall, sky villa was a dream come true destination for us and we would recommend it to anyone who wants an elegant, luxurious experience in Plett.

The front desk staff was friendly and helpfull.
Unfortunately our lunch and breakfast experience as not great. Kitchen was not fully operationsl eventhough the hotel was fully booked. The lunch menu was extremely limited and only one waiter available to serve us during breakfast. We wanted to sit outside on the pool loungers, pillows were locked away and not available. We sat in the bar area when we returned from dinner (around 22h00), and the manager who stays on the premises reprimanded us without reason. She stated that we should ensure that we keep our voices down as the hotel is fully booked. It felt like we were treated like children. Our beds were not turned down, and the cups we used for coffee during the day was not replaced with clean cups. This is not my first time that I stay in a 4,5 star hotel. We were 2 couples chatting before we retired to bed. The manager made it felt that we should be getting inferior service because we made the booking during lockdown at a reduced rate.....Not a good experience at all. Noksi, the night manager was excellent, accomodating and extremely friendly.

Good day renebenecke, thanks very much for taking the time to post a review following your and your sister's recent stay with us. Its disappointing for me and the TEAM to read reviews whereby GUESTS have left unhappy following their stay with us. We pride ourselves in providing exceptional service, we are very sorry that you did not have a good experience and left disappointed. We are currently in the midst of a global pandemic, in order to ensure the safety of our employee's and GUESTS at the same time adhering to government regulations we have had to change the way in which we operate. We ask all our employee's and GUESTS to work together to mitigate the spread of the virus. All of us need to adapt to the new normal. As per our standards, being a graded 5 star establishment there are many services that we had to suspend or reduce This was done in order to protect you our GUEST, as well as our employees. It was a tough decision to make, however we continously communicate any changes to our GUEST'S prior to arrival and upon arrival. In your specific case, both you and your sister were emailed in advance. You were once again informed upon arrival at the hotel, of what to expect during your stay, our restaurant operations and our reduced menus. Turndown service specifically has been suspended, this in order to ensure minimal traffic in and out of your room. Although we would love to undertake to do turndown, we have taken a decision not to do so until further notice. I must reiterate that this was communicated to you on 2 occasions. It must also be mentioned that at the time of your stay, our country had a curfew and strict lockdown regulations in place. In order to ensure that we get our employee's home safely before the curfew kicked in we had to reduce our operating times. When you arrived back at the hotel, our restaurant and bar had effectively closed. Depsite such, as well as the explanation as to why. You continued to demand service from our bar, as well as let us know how disappointed you were in our service. Our receptionist was called by 3 different rooms, in a space of 10 minutes by GUESTS who were upset by the noise you and your group were making. One even threatened to come down and sort the "Noisy and inconsiderate people" out themselves. Our receptionist calmed the GUEST in question and promised she would handle the situation. Our receptionist approached you and advised you of the complaints from the other GUESTS. She asked if you would kindly lower your voices. This according to her, was not received well by your group. We are very sorry that you felt the way you we approached was like a parent addressing children. This was not her intention at all, she was merely trying to calm the situation before other GUESTS took matters into their own hands. I did try and make contact personally with your sister, she did not take my call or reply to my email following your stay. It is a real pity that you did not have a memorable one, however I assure you that the TEAM is putting in every bit of effort as far as possible to ensure a bit of normality in difficult times. We do hope that you will give us another chance in the near future. You do have my direct contact details should you wish to chat about your stay in more detail.

This hotel has a pleasant vibe, with a modern decor both in the outdoor and common areas, as well as in the rooms. Though our room was a bit small, it did have a lovely balcony overlooking the garden and the ocean. Drinking water was provided in the room, and a tasty breakfast was included.

The bathroom had a heated floor, which was a lovely addition that made getting out of a quick shower more pleasant. The robes provided were comfortable. However, the bathroom did not have sufficient lighting, and the mirror was too high for shorter people to use. That also goes for the shampoo, conditioner, and soap in the shower: they were in nice glass containers, but they were so high on a shelf that they were unusable. I could barely reach them to put them down safely in the floor. I was afraid I would drop them and have broken glass everywhere.

We did not try the dinner in the restaurant, but we weren’t impressed with the menu.

In all, this is a comfortable enough hotel, though four stars is a stretch. We will probably look for another four-star experience next time.

We are pleased to hear that you appreciated our hotel's modern décor and ambience, including the outdoor areas, common spaces, and guest rooms. Your mention of the lovely balcony overlooking our garden and the ocean is delightful to read, as the panoramic views from our hotel are our signature. It's great to know that you found the heated floor in the bathroom to be a pleasant addition and that our robes met your comfort expectations. We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the bathroom's lighting and the placement of amenities. Your feedback is valuable, and we will certainly review these aspects to ensure a more user-friendly experience. We regret that the dinner menu did not meet your expectations, and we will take your comments into consideration for future enhancements. Our culinary team continually works to refine our offerings to cater to diverse tastes. We aim to provide each guest with a luxurious and memorable 5-star experience and take your feedback to heart. We hope that you will consider giving us another opportunity to exceed your expectations during your next visit to Plettenberg Bay. Small, beautiful and comfortable boutique hotel. My family and I stayed at this hotel for 4 days and we really enjoyed it. We stayed in a room with a beautiful view of the sea, a large balcony and a large room. Every day we were surprised in the room with delicious pastries twice a day. The staff are friendly and the breakfast and snack served in the room were great. What should still improve is the service at breakfast that forces you to order the drink and only after the ready drink can you order something from the menu. This makes no sense and makes the service time consuming. Sometimes I tried to order something from the menu but I was asked that I should wait for the hot drinks to arrive so I could order something from the menu. Another thing we miss is adjoining rooms, it doesn’t have rooms like this here, but we’ve already been informed by the hotel in advance and we chose to stay there anyway and it won’t disappoint.

An incredibly modern and relaxing hotel. The room and bathroom were beautiful and clean. The managers were especially helpful booking us restaurants and taxis and organising a takeaway breakfast one morning when we had to leave early. Breakfast was good, and the location felt safe.

Would happily come back. They were renovating the upstairs pool so it is a shame we didn't manage to see that.

All in all a lovely stay.

From the moment we arrived everything was perfect until the moment we left. The hotel sits on a hill overlooking Plettenberg Bay and it's one of the best views you'll find in this area. The grounds and hotel are immaculate and the hotel is well designed. The room was large and had all the amenities one could hope for. We were treated like absolute royalty so we always felt special. One evening the staff placed a complimentary charcuterie board with wonderful meats, cheeses and fresh fruit. We were always treated with kindness and generosity by the entire staff. We are so grateful for everything they did for us. We would fly from the US again just to stay at this very location!

I stayed here while driving the garden route back from PE to Cape Town. It was a short one night stay on a rainy day, so I didn't get to take advantage of all the amenities.

The check-in\out process was very simple, and excellent service (even secured a reservation at Zinzi - which I also highly recommend for dinner). The hotel is very modern, small rooms, but excellent view that sits on top of a hill over looking the entire Bay. The beds were very comfortable, and received the best sleep from my entire trip at this hotel. There is no curtains covering the windows in the shower, so people at the pool might get a view if you're 6' or taller!

Will definitely stay again when passing through the area!

This two year old hotel is well situated on a hill overlooking Plettenberg Bay. Our room overlooked the bay and was well equipped. The staff were fantastic and breakfast was good. The bad news was the evening meal, which we had twice; it was poor. Fortunately there is a good choice of restaurants within a few kilometres with the exceptional Emily Moon nearby (its very popular so book in advance) and excellent fish at Enricos a few kilometres away.

Hi I think you can possibly see the menu online. There is certainly fish on the menu and plenty of fresh salads. I am not sure if the meat is halal.
