Stayed there for 2 nights in February 2019. Rooms are nice and clean, but have stayed the same probably since the 1980s (so a refreshing renovation is due). Some direct problems we had - the windows won’t close tightly so the air is humid and it gets a bit cold at nights; some guys were staying on the floor above us - heard every word of what they said and every cough they produced. Otherwise everything is in a working order, the kitchen is nicely big and has everything you need to cook a regular dinner. The property has a huge garden and a friendly dog, the owners are nice and take care of problems quickly.

We stayed at Moonsong Backpackers for two nights with a group of 13 friends. We felt welcome immediately, and got shown to our dormitory and kitchen. Everything was clean and neat, and we really enjoyed having the dorm room all to ourselves.

The only downside was the 1 toilet for the whole room, but we were able to use the toilets and showers downstairs as well, which were in a good condition with warm water.

The kitchen was nice compared to other backpackers, and we also enjoyed the braai facilities.

This backpackers is a good place to stay if you want to be outside of busy Plettenberg Bay as it is on a smallholding about 5min outside town.

If I understand correctly, there is a new management and they are busy upgrading the place. The place has a lot of potential and I hope to see some improvements and creative use of the large space.

Thank you! We enjoyed our stay, especially meeting your friendly dog, Frikkie!

Me and my friends enjoyed the night we spent at moonsong backpackers. All thanks to Alistair Gallant for everything that he has done for us. Keep up the good work. Not forgetting Mr D. Short for Danny for making sure that our stay was top class.

Had such a nice stay. Premises and rooms are kept clean and tidy. The owner and his wife were very friendly and helpful. I loved to sit in the garden, enjoying the serenity. I enjoyed sitting in the garden in the evenings, surrounded by the serenity of the place. Comes highly recommended!

I booked my girls' hockey team into Moonsong for one night. They loved the "doll-house" effect of the dorm room. We had a delicious breakfast prepared for us to take on the bus as we had to leave early. The rowdy revellers outside were sent packing by Danny - thank you!

Hey! You would need a car to get to Plett if you're gonna stay there. With a car, it's less than 10 mins ride.
