Due to the COVID 19 pandemic it had been a while since we visited 8A, but we were pleasantly happy to note during our stay in early May that the service continues to be of an outstanding and exceptional standard, delivered consistently everyday. The hostess made the stay welcoming and comfortable in the usual 8A fashion. We always feel at home in the luxury, spacious and exceptionally clean rooms and enjoy the perfectly prepared breakfast served with a smile. Thank you 8A for keeping up the standards during these difficult times!

8A Grahamstown is a true gem. I stayed in one of the 6 rooms they have on the property. The room is spacious , equipped with air conditioning and electric blankets to keep you toasty during winter. The property is tastefully decorated in a combination of modern farm style and boho chic theme. The bathroom is my highlight , the walk in waterfall shower and Charlotte Rhys accessories made for great experience when getting ready each morning. I enjoyed the sweet locally manufactured biscottis provided at the tea station.
Although we were in stage 4 load shedding the generator on the property kept the lights and wifi connection on during the 2.5 hours. The desk in the room also allowed me to work in the room prior to heading into town for my meetings. I chose the option to have both my breakfast and dinner served at the property , the homestyle meals were both tasty and well presented.
Monwabisi and the team make the stay extra comfortable with their warmth and hospitality. I will be returning to 8A on my next visit to Grahamstown.

We only stayed for one night but we found that the staff helpful and efficient and the room was clean and comfortable. We stayed in the family room, which was actually two rooms that shared a bathroom - a pleasant surprise. There was a good selection of cooked food for breakfast and the fruits and yoghurt were fresh and delicious.I would recommend this guest house and would definitely stay there again.

I spent four nights at 8A in June and again this past long weekend. What a treat! The staff are attentive, available, warm, flexible and efficient. The rooms are beautifully appointed and spotless. The guesthouse lends itself to group or single bookings and the facilities suit both options. The pool and garden are a delight, the outside and inside living areas are inviting, practical and aesthetic. The breakfast menu is broad and the delivery delicious. I’m returning next week for another four days and I can’t wait! 8A is a luxurious yet home-from-home experience!

Having had such a wonderful time at 8A with a group of friends and their daughters over the College matric dance, we did the same for the DSG matric dance. I spent 4 nights there and cannot rate it highly enough. Unathi was always on hand and went out of her way to make us feel at home. Breakfasts were incredible; decor beautiful; hospitality amazing...a five-star rating is more than deserved!

Beautiful setting and friendly staff (Monwabisi). Loved the rooms and the personalised breakfast. The hospitality is on another level, Monwabisi recommended restaurants and followed through with menus for ease of reference as arrival was late but yet he showed up with a smile none the less. I definitely have a home in Grahamstown.

After COVID we have noticed that most places have slipped in delivering the quality that one might expect. While that is understandable, we were surprised at how 8A maintained their standards. Fantastic guesthouse experience! 8A is situated in West Hill suburb in a quiet part of town, yet a few minutes drive from the centre. It has lovely views from the big windows with the room being very spacious. The breakfast was excellent as well!
