Service was great, from reception to room service. Comfy beds got a 9/10 from me. They also provide extra security (alarm system) just so you feel safe in their property. Breakfast gets an 8/10 from me it wasn't what I expected but still great

Called to complain about the state of the accommodation and the lady cleaning came the next day to do a better job. I like that it was mostly private and very peaceful and that it was conveniently located near all the shops.

Disliked that It was filthy when we got there. In the surface it looked clean, but on finding a couple of spiders realised that it was actually really filthy. Had to go buy cleaning stuff and scrub the place down to ensure that we did not get any nasty surprises at night. Also bought our own linen to sleep in (an expense that we did not budget on), because the linen and towels looked and smelled really bad. And the bathroom/toilet situation is just too weird

Make sure you explicit state how to get hold of keys well in advance for guests. it took a long time to get to you and the phone was not being picked up for over 30 minutes when calling. It must be clearly stated in a follow up email

The rooms are average.
The cleaners obviously only clean around everything - extremely dusty under the bed.
The room was not fully set up when I arrived.
I would not label the room as self-catering as there is only a microwave for heating. The fridge freezes everything.
ALthough I requested breakfast to be served at 7:30 a.m. as my shuttle to the conference I attended picked me up around that time, I never had breakfast. The first morning the kitchen staff only arrived at 7:45 and by 7:50 my shuttle came around a second time to pick me up (the first time he was there to pick me up, the front manager on duty told him that he could not call me as he would not be able to find me and that all guests were asleep... even though I had been awake since 5:45)
The second morning we had a similar scenario.
I will not recommend this place.

What lovely accommodation. My family and I had a wonderful experience, and Red at the front desk was super helpful. Clean and comfortable, and all the necessary amenities were supplied. We highly recommend this accommodation to anyone staying in the Grahamstown area.

The house is quite beautiful and needs deep cleaning. Our linen was dirty and had marks on them. There was dust not just under the bed but all over the house even on the tables.

We complained to the manager that worked that night and he was kind to change our sheets the very same night

The staff on the phone were exceptionally rude. Because their card systems doesn’t work properly, they needed to be paid in cash, and made a special point after providing the code and kets rhay I was not allowed to enter the room until this was paid, and quite nasty about it. The bathroom smells strongly of urine all the time, even with the window open (I suspect something is wrong with the plumbing / septic tank). This is very unpleasant, like having a public bathroom. It sleeps even beyond the bathroom. Since there is no ventilation, the place get very hot. Since are no screens on the windows, when you open them loads of mosquitos get in and make for a very uncomfortable, sleepless night (no mosquito net either). Don’t waste your money on this one. To add insult to injury, the owners (Knightsbridge) just Enrique’s me now to say I haven’t paid and my credit card was rejected, after I paid in cash weeks ago. And asking me for a review here! Nice work, Knightsbridge, way to be out of touch.

Generally had a pleasant stay at the Loft, but needs a modern touch up in some areas to improve comfort for the traveler who is staying for an extended period. TV in the apartment I stayed in was way too small (in this day and age) and the some of the sofas really "old style" uncomfortable. If some additional attention is paid to the smaller things to improve comfort, there is no reason why I would not stay at the Loft again.

No water pressure, so made showering a real challenge and filthy shower.
Contacted owner via Booking.Com, only received a response 2 days later and still nothing was done about the lack of water pressure. Very disappointed as I have stayed at Settlers Cottages on a few occassions

Very central location. Quiet and private. spacious but cosy room with a comfortable king size bed. The room had everything I needed in mint condition. Hot water in the shower. The electric blanket was very handy as the night time temperature was 8 degrees C. I enjoyed every moment, whether awake or asleep. I also enjoyed having the breakfast brought to my room. I got to do a bit of work on my laptop while my car got washed. Secure parking.
