We arrived on Friday night and were warmly received by a very helpful front desk staff. I was head of delegation of 18 male learners and 12 educators. Our rooming was sorted out amicably and although we arrived with only 10 minutes left before the restaurant would close, all of us were fed with quality food. I would recommend this hotel anytime as a low cost type of place where you still get the quality of a more affluent place of accommodation.

First time visiting Road Lodge East London and all I can say is staff is fabulous! I had a warm welcome from reception, the hot chocolate from the kitchen was marvellous! My dinner was to die for. The room was well organised, clean and ready for occupation on time. May the Lord bless all the people working hard to make this hotel stay feel like home away from home.

We stayed overnight on our way to CT. Booked 2 rooms (interleading). Rooms were neat and clean. Staff were pleasant and helpful. We did not eat breakfast so can't rate the food. Overall pleasant stay at a budget friendly place. Note if you are travelling with kids/teens might be worth booking interleading rooms as the rooms are small and the sleep couch wasn't big enough for my son.

When arrived I had to wait to be assisted after an 11 hour drive because there was only 1 person at the front desk. My key didn't work and when it eventually worked after the 8th attempt the hotel staff said they can't assist. Food is blunt and boring. Place is okay for a night's rest not highly recommended.

You know every time I visit East london I used to love that hotel but now since last year hai no. I always regret visiting roadlodge, this time around I had energy in me to even bother complaining shame, the TV wasn't playing nice other channels had no sound at all, then the shower oh wow haike the it is terrible the water pressure wasn't coming out properly at all I struggled to shower after a long day I couldn't even get a proper shower the water was cold and the lady that I called to help me with it so the water level and the fact that the is no hot water said I should wait a bit long for it to change but unfortunately for me the water was just a bit warm, everytime I visit that place I always regret wasting my money on it cause nothing seems to change. On the other side after a cold shower went out to buy some food and something to drink and again on my unfortunate side the were no ice buckets to put my beverages in and the ice machine is broken. I don't know why I went back the after I told myself so many times that places is one case after another…

This place is outdated, the food is terrible and needs a make-over. it's perfect as an old age home. NB the walls are not soundproof so you will be very frustrated. I would never recommend this. The beds make a squeaky noise. The Aircon does not work. book at you own risk

I forgot my keys when checking outing my room , I was contacted the same day by the hotel management , staff then arranged a courier service to get them to me as soon as possible from east London to Durban

I enjoyed my stay in East London Road Lodge. Their frontline reception staff are always professional, friendly and willing to help. The hotel was sparkling neat and taken care of. Their rooms were clean and family friendly.

Rooms are tiny and very clairaudient, very loud guests, no fridge and when you asked for an ice bucket, like it is described in the guest directory, you get a laundry bag? Really? Wouldn’t consider this place again nor recommend it...

What's the use of having an app that is an inconvenience to us. I left my bank card and I used the pay now option and it didn't work I had to wait for close to an hour for someone to bring my card. I have been a loyal customer for the past 2 years and this experience was embarrassing as if I could not afford to pay for my stay.
