Authentic African experience - having moved abroad and not returned in over 15 years, I was shocked at how run down the reception area was. A family of 3, driven in run down jeep to our tent along unkept bumpy road.Then...arrived at our double "glamping style" tent - Stunning location, clean, functional (electricity, fridge, shower, blankets etc) and surrounded by nature - peaceful and wonderfully noisy with wild life. The dinner and breakfast were limited but tasty. No vegetarian options. The game drive was EXCEPTIONAL, the ranger explained clearly and went beyond his duties to track down animals for us, ended with sun downer drinks amongst the giraffe and zebra - Truly spectacular !! My 9 y.o. loved it ! We saw lots of game - impala, zebra, lions, giraffe, other buck, unfortunately we didn't spot the rhino (only 2) or wildebeest and no elephants on the reserve anymore. It's not a luxury safari but it's a very true representation of authentic African life, survival at its core. Their website is non existent but call reception directly to book, as much cheaper than using agents. I would recommend for those watching their budgets but happy to experience a game drive without any frills.

We didn't know about the lodge, so we booked the safari half day round trip only. After a nice breakfast at the lodge restaurant we went with Trevor, our guide, on a high platform Range Rover through the Private Game Reserve. Trevor was relentless and we saw zebras, antelopes, spring boek, giraffes, ostriches and finally- in an enclosed separate part of the reserve - a big white male lion and a group of 5 male white lions. Very impressive! The "roads" themselves are quite a unique experience because you wouldn't believe that a wheeled vehicle can master these kind of tracks. Highly recommended!

I recently had an extremely disappointing experience with inkwenkwezi. Despite making a reservation well in advance, my group and I were subjected to a double booking error that significantly impacted our overall enjoyment. The lodge failed to deliver the promised services and booking arrangements we had made, causing frustration and distress among our group.

Carel was an excellent guide and fun to talk to. A fellow birder. My wife and I definitely enjoyed our time here (visiting from Canada). I give 5 Stars is for Carel, but less stars for the reserve itself. A couple criticisms for the reserve as a whole: 1. The hot water in our tent accommodation did not function as the info-card on the nightstand said. It says that after turning on the hot water, to turn on the cold very, very slowly and gradually until you achieve your desired temperature. It said that if you turn on the cold too quickly, the gas geyser will shut off completely and you'll have to start over again. This was not the case. Without touching the cold water tap at all, the geyser would turn off and the hot water would stop flowing after around 40 seconds of use. So showering was impossible. But I was able to tediously fill the bathtub by closing and re-opening the hot water every 40 seconds. I spoke with a couple other guests and they said they had the same issue. 2. Secondly, our third night, we had a serious issue with ants, even in the bed. Thankfully there was a can of Doom in the nightstand that I sprayed over virtually the entire floors pace around the bed, taking out every ant I saw, as well as spraying the legs and headboard. Had to air out the tent after that because of all the chemicals floating around. Must be a nest underneath the deck that should be dealt with, or at least put ant traps in the room. Lastly, but most importantly... The lions. My God those lions need some exercise. Or some form of physical enrichment. Tie a leg of cattle to the end of a truck or something. I've seen lions in zoos more fit than this pride. But another more pressing thing is that there are WAY too many males together in the paddock. Totally preventable iinjuries will be sustained due to the social pressures between dominant males. And any cubs that get born will likely be killed shortly after. That should be addressed above all. To end on a positive note, the food was delicious, the staff were all very friendly, and of course, the animals are amazing. Its always lovely to see Ava at the reception, and the waterbuck that follows the zebras is adorable. The aesthetic of the buildings... and the land that the reserve is on is an incredibly beautiful place. A piece of land I wish I could own. Overall enjoyed our stay.

The stay was amazing. Our guide was very knowledgeable and ensured we viewed some animals, even in challenging weather conditions. The food was wonderful and the attention we received from the staff was fantastic. The ratio of staff to guests was a stand out for us

Room was tidy but had a smell as if no ventilation. Preferred not to wash as water had unpleasant odour. Inkwenkwezi private game reserve on bookings but actual place of stay far a few kilometres from reserve, not on premises.
