Detailed Reviews
Positives: Staff were friendly, reception were helpful at all times, bed was made every day, beds were reasonably comfy.
Negatives: our booking stated we have wifi in our room, however there was no indication we'd be charged for it. Upon arrival, we were told it'd cost 5 euro per day for wifi, or 20 euro for one week. Also, the hotel said soft drinks would be included in the price. Upon arrival we found out we have to pay for coke, sprite and fanta, and only orange juice and apple juice were included in the price. Would have been nice to know about these things before we booked with the hotel. The room is not cleaned thoroughly, there was a lot of thick dust on the floor under the bed and under the tables. The food was very same-same, kind of felt like we were having the same foods every night, just in a slightly different sauce or topping. Overall it was a decent stay, could just be better.

The Abu Dabbab Lodge is nicely located between the Sahara desert and the Abu Dabbad beach: one of the best in the Marsa Alam area. Across the street, the beach’s sand takes you to the PADI diving center, a well-organized facility for experienced beginners. The Dive Masters are very kind and friendly, and it is possible to have private lessons with them. Some of them have enormous experience, like Fady, who has done over 6000 dives, including professional diving for companies that require deep diving as deep as - 95 meters!
The Lodge offers small bungalows with key features like a clean bathroom, a refrigerator, air conditioning, and a shower with hot water. The wi-fi works very well!
The food is mainly based on Egyptian cuisine, there is not a great variety of food, but the staff is very kind and goes the extra mile to meet reasonable requests. I do not eat meat, but after I explained my needs to Ahmet, the excellent front desk manager that helps guests with any aspect of their needs, I found everyday food suitable for my diet.
I strongly recommend this place if you are looking for a vacation based on diving ( no amenities like fancy restaurants, disco, etc.) or if you like a cozy hotel where you meet the staff and can chat with them. For example, I asked whether they could prepare a birthday cake for my partner on our last evening. They prepared a table outdoors, made a cake with candles, and the staff came out to sing him local happy birthday songs! For me, it has been a very appropriate choice! As a secret, I can tell you that coming after the Christmas Holidays ( like in the second week of January until the end of February), very few guests are around both in the hotel and at the diving center, so you can get the best of you vacation if a peaceful vacation with silence and beautiful scenarios is what you are looking for!

We loved the Abu Dabbab lodge once we realized that we not right on the beach. We were told that because this is a marine sanctuary there are no hotel righ on Abu Dabbab beach. This is the perfect resort if you are a scuba diver or snorkeler and want to access Abu Dabbab beach. It is a short walk across an empty field and you are right at the beach and the five star PADI dive outfit. The room was very nice and the restaurant serves the traditional Egyptian fare. The staff was very helpful and we would highly recommend this lodge if you are not a six dives a day diver and just want to dive a couple times a day and then hang on the beautiful beach. We checked out the nearby Hilton were not impressed by the canned experience it offered.

Everyone working in the lodge is more than welcoming and accommodating. We really liked the energy in this place.
The food was tasty and served in an open buffet.
The amazing beach is across the road, at a walking distance. We saw turtles and snorkeled at their beautiful reef.
The room is basic but nice, with possible improvements at the bathroom (we couldn’t dispense the water after showering).
We will visit again for sure, hopefully soon.

We stayed there with my wife for 2 nights. The location is fantastic as it is right on a beautiful beach. The hotel itself is small and well maintained. The grounds are beautifully green and there are a lot of plants, really very nice. The staff goes to great lengths to look after every single guest. The general manager Mr. Tawfek was also there and greeted us personally and was very attentive, thanks again to make my birthday nice. I would like also to highlight the staff in the restaurant and bar, caring about all details. The rooms are large and well equipped, everything you need is available. We'll definitely be back, a wonderful place to recharge your batteries.

Location is amazing, intimate and cozy, away from fancy resorts. Beautiful bay and long beach just in front, 1 min walk. Rooms are nice and clean, good meals, everything you need. It's definitely the place to spend most of the time outside, practicing yoga, diving and/or snorkeling, swimming with turtles and dugong 💙

Spent a day there with the family. I think they have the best reef in Marsa Alam with plenty of turtles and Sea Cows. Great area for the kids to swim and play by the beach. Service is fantastic from divers to waiters. Excellent day. Strongly recommended.

Hi! Sincerely I think that will not have fun as he could have in a big resort/hotel.
The lodge has no animation (there's only a little pool).
The beach is beautiful; if he likes snorkeling or diving he will love that place!!
There are many turtles in the water!!
Sorry, we didn't try the pools as they didn't look too clean
