Wow, we thought Maldives water was nice until we arrived at the resort. The water was so blue and clear. We spent 5 days in our overwater bungalow. It was an amazing experience. We did the coral garden tour, saw sting rays and manta rays, and snorkeled with the black tip reef sharks. The weather was perfect too, warm during the day and cool at night.Overall an amazing experience.

We stayed in the thalasso for 4 nights as part of our honeymoon. The first 5 nights we spent in the sister hotel on the main island (le moana) the thalasso is every bit of a 5star luxurious resort! The over water bungalows are huge! With a living room area, glass coffee table in which to see the fish from inside the bungalow (although we was far out so saw very few) very large and possibly the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in with one whole wall of window viewing over the ocean. Free standing bath tub and in with a very large viewing window. The resort has a few restaurants, one on the beach which is a bit more of a snack/burger/wraps type menu. There is then 2 more main restaurants which host a more fine dining experience, featuring dishes such as blue shrip risotto and beef cheeks. Very delicious! If not a little expensive, but it is to be expected in a place like this and Bora Bora in general is expensive. Pint of local larger aprox £8. On the resort their is a large infinity pool, spa, coral garden, jacuzzi, icecream stand, little souvenir shop. The down side to this resort in comparison to the le moana was that their was no local shop or anywhere to go to purchase drinks or snacks or souvenirs with out buying directly from the resort. This made they stay a lot mote expensive. I can not fault the staff at the thalasso (or the le moana) all very friendly and professional. Jenifer was a lovely French woman who welcomed us and showed us around the complex when we first arrived. We was served breakfast in the reef restaurant every morning by a small group of local ladies, all very friendly. Hana a woman who served us drinks one rainy afternoon was also very pleasant. Its hard to not compare the 2 intercontinental resorts we have stayed at but I feel it is important to point of the pro's and con's and would say as more beautiful as the thalasso is, the extra cost was probably not worth it for us. The le moana is a 4 star and that bit cheaper with more accessibly (been on the main island) You will not be disappointed with either establishment, Bora Bora is heaven on earth and the intercontinental resorts are absolutely faultless. Well done and thanknyou for a beautiful stay

This is a magnificent resort for a relaxing trip to Bora Bora. The bungalow room is large and has excellent views of the mountain and waters. The staff and service is incredible, they take extra care to know and treat their guests. We enjoyed the two housekeeping services a day and sweet messages on the mirror. We loves all the fresh delicious food and happy hours. The spa is a must with all the amenities and top notch services. Everyone who comes here has the best experience and we will be back!!! Thank you to Emilie, Elia, Clemente, Richard and Leilani- just to name a few of the exceptional staff members!

We had the most amazing time in the Intercontinental Thalasso for our pandemic delayed honeymoon. We came over via the ferry from their sister hotel Le Moana after staying on the main island of Bora Bora and were promptly greeted at the dock for a tour around the resort while they were getting our check-in ready since we were quite early. Right off the bat, all the staff was very friendly and courteous and the resort is incredibly stunning, clean and well-maintained. We had the most delicious iced vanilla tea welcome drink and a beautiful view of Mount Otemanu while we waited for our check-in process. Check-in was very smooth and all fees and things were pointed out so nothing was a surprise. Our room was a Sapphire overwater bungalow #108 and it had a nice partial view of Mount Otemanu from our private dock. The bungalow was huge and had a nice modern design with some traditional polynesian touches and it was the exact kind of decor that my husband and I loved. Our room was serviced twice a day and the housekeeping always wrote such cute little messages in our mirror that we loved to read each day. We're also given two bottles of water each day but tap water is completely safe to drink as well if you need to, which we did. We only tried out the Sands restaurant for lunch and dinner, the Reef restaurant for our buffet breakfast, and the Sunset Theatre for happy hour. Sands restaurant was the more affordable option compared to the Reef and Le Corail and had more options that we preferred to eat, as well my husband has a seafood allergy and there were more seafood options in those two other restaurants. What we really liked about the Sands restaurant is, like its name implies, it's on the beach so you have nice views of the ocean as the sun sets. The happy hour drinks at the Sunset Theatre is quite strong and delicious and you get a great view of the beautiful sunset. The breakfast buffet had lots of options and would have little changes in variety on a daily basis. The pool temperature is nicely regulated depending on the outside weather of the day so it was quite enjoyable to use. We really liked the complimentary daily cultural activities that happen at noon, as well as the complimentary use of snorkels, kayaks and stand-up paddleboards. There is also a huge pump of SPF 30 sunscreen by the beach boy hut to use if you don't want to run back to your room for more sunscreen. Service by the staff was always great and they really cared about making your stay enjoyable. Any suggestions you had they would really care to listen and would want your feedback on how to improve. We also really enjoyed talking to the staff to learn more about their life outside of the resort so we could learn more about their culture. Special shoutout to Ralph at Sands, Moise, Kevin, and I think Mere? (didn't get a chance to catch the name but just saw his tattoo) the pool boys for being so helpful and kind. The live singer at Bubbles was also fantastic with the mix of western and french classics. The only suggestion I could have for the resort is more chicken options and more local traditional French Polynesian foods would be appreciated on the menu. My husband really wanted to try firi firi, coconut cake, banana poe for breakfast but unfortunately was not available the days we were there. As well the traditional method of cooking things underground would be a cool dish to try outside of an entire buffet option. We also like when the staff wore traditional polynesia clothing and personal expression over the hotel-required uniforms. My husband and I have been to the Maldives before and I can say hands down based on culture, resort, wonderful staff, and beautiful scenery that Bora Bora is our top choice to return to if given the chance over another blue water, white sand honeymooner's destination and we would highly recommend the Thalasso! Please don't ever change in sharing touches of your culture and your genuine staff.
