The entire trip the owner was drunk and talking trash about previous clients making me wonder what he was going to say about our group when we left. Cabin was not clean and to top it all off they tried over charging me by $2k until I threatened to file a lawsuit.
We ended up cancelling last minute, late at night, for a 3 night stay at a very unclean, unsatisfactory rental. We needed two rooms (for 2 couples)! Called Salmon Catcher Lodge and Terry was so helpful: he was busy, and it was the end of a long day, yet he figured it out for our 3 nights, and we are so glad he did! Risa was also a gem in helping us get settled into our cabins.. This property was great! Clean, cozy, conveniently located, and they even processed your fish for shipping home! The cabins we both ended up with were roomy, and clean! It was a wonderful find and a lifesaver! Needless to say, we will return whenever we can! Thank you so much!!!
This is the Place!!! I just returned from a once in a lifetime Alaska trip, with Chuck Reed of Kentucky Wounded Heroes. Everything was unbelievably beautiful and indescribable. Our group fished and toured Alaska for two weeks. KWH was able to stay at Salmon Catcher Lodge in Kenai. I was astonished with the amenities. Salmon Catcher Lodge is owned by Terry Johnson. Salmon Catcher Lodge boast big spacious log lodging on a campus size area. The lodges are set up for several guests. The lodge I stayed in, was clean, spacious and had any amenity you could ask for. Eight people stayed in this spacious lodge, but it could of easily handled more. I was very impressed when I visited the Salmon Cather’s spacious gym facilities. Sauna, jacuzzi, massage chairs, weights and exercise equipment was clean, sanitized and new. Kentucky Wounded Heroes, just wanted to say thanks to Terry and all the good people at Salmon Catcher Lodge, for an unbelievably great stay. I can never properly express our gratitude. Thank You Friends! I would encourage anyone wanting to stay in Kenai or surrounding areas, to look at Salmon Catcher Lodge first. Nothing else will measure up to this place!…
Awesome place to stay! Cabins were clean, spacious and beautiful. Terry and his wife were great to deal with and helpful with getting checked in and organizing a salmon charter. The cabins came very well furnished. The fishing guide they booked us with was the best I’ve ever had!! We highly recommend Salmon Catcher Lodge and would stay there again.
The owner and his family were immersed in the day-to-day services as the virus had caused about 1/3 of this year's clients to re-schedule to 2021. Did 6 fishing charters thru the lodge -- 3 on the Kenai for Sockeye, 1 at Seward for Halibut and 2 fly-ins to Kustatan river for Coho. My wife and I pretty much limited-out on our catches each day. The arrangements were well planned and the guides were exceptionally friendly. The guided river pick-ups were just several minutes from the lodge. My wife is not a seasoned fisherman, but the aid, instruction and attention took care of all of that....maybe I should have listened closer as she out-fished me most days! The lodge processed and packaged all our catches (168 lbs of filets). The lodge is recently constructed log units, well spaced for privacy and the daily housekeeping was great. A common fitness center was huge. We loved the "olympic size" sauna and hot tub especially after some of the cooler/rainier days on the water! Two articulating/vibrating chairs like you see in the airports were fanatastic on our 67 year-old bodies. On the 1st night had a moose meander right by the front deck....wasn't 10 ft away, didn't seemed a bit concerned by us...got some great pictures We saw the lodge as 1st class and are likely to return on our next trip to Alaska. The owner (Terry Johnson) and his wife (Angie) were accommodating at every opportunity. You often get what you pay for and this lodge is definitely worth the premium!!…
