I truly can't say enough good things about Mango Moon. We were pleasantly surprised when we saw the place, given how affordable the rooms were. When you arrive you're met with a jaw-dropping view. The hotel is perched atop a hill overlooking both the rainforest and the ocean - with the rooms, the bar, the restaurant, and the infinity pool all facing that direction. We ended up staying for 8 nights and never got tired of that view. We were there during the rainy season and accordingly ended up spending a lot of time at the hotel. After sunny mornings at the nearby beach, there was nothing more relaxing than lazy afternoons on our room's (covered) balcony, lounging in a hammock, cocktail in hand, watching the rainfall over the jungle and the countless monkeys stealing mangoes from each other's hands. (The hotel is surrounded by mango, starfruit, tamarind, and grapefruit trees which meant endless fresh fruit for us too.) The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful with organizing excursions. Highly recommend ATVs, as well as kayaking or pontooning (we did kayaking) through the mangroves. (As a side note, try to pay in cash for the excursions since the companies have to charge a 13% VAT on credit card transactions, which adds up.) The rooms were spotless, the breakfast was delicious, the cocktails were strong, the pool was warm, and the price was unbeatable. Just a great experience all around. We'll absolutely be staying here again next time.

Wow. Amazing. I’ve never stayed at a hotel and then changed my entire vacation and stay three more nights at the same hotel until now. Definitely rated among my top hotel places to stay. I saw three types of monkeys, a sloth, some patriots, and some toucans. I’d say it was a wonderful, life experience.

Great location with ocean view. We were amazed by all the wildlife we could see right there! The desk clerk, Yamil, was very helpful and gave great recommendations and information about the area. They provided coffee and toast with fruit each morning in the dinning area which was nice. My only reason for not giving more stars is because it isn’t quite as we expected after reading the other reviews and seeing the signs upon entering. For example, other than breakfast the kitchen is closed. I guess it is the owner’s son that was there that just used it for his personal use. He did not interact with us other than introducing his dog and opening the hotel entrance door for us on a few occasions. The bar at pool level is closed and piled with cushions from the deck furniture. The grounds are not maintained well. I was left feeling that it wasn’t living up to it’s potential.

Truly an amazing stay at the Mango Moon Villa. My girlfriend and I came down for 4 nights and were blown away with the views, the staff and the hotel itself. We came down with the hope of seeing a lot of wildlife at the national park but were surprised to find that we see even more wildlife at the hotel. We saw monkeys, macaws, toucans and were even able to see a sloth navigate the trees from our own bedroom window. In addition to the amazing views and wildlife the staff was friendly and attentive when it came to our needs. They were able to recommend ATV tours and fishing guides. And when it came to the Covid testing required to return to the US, they called all around Quepos and MA to help us find a place that could accommodate us immediately. Looking forward to getting back down here.
