We absolutely loved our stay at La Vela! The location was perfect- walking distance to el Parque Nacional and the beach, close to restaurants and a supermercado. The poolside bar, wood fire pizza oven and breakfasts were top notch and convenient. The property is gorgeous and the rooms are quiet and very comfortable. We really enjoyed the smaller scale, boutique lodging and super friendly staff!

My family and I just left a 5 night stay at La Vela Boutique Hotel in Manuel Antonio. It was our 5th hotel of our Costa Rica trip, but by far our favorite. The location was amazing. We could walk to the beach, to many restaurants, grocery stores and souvenir shopping in less than 5 minutes. We walked several times to Manuel Antonio National Park too. The hotel grounds are quaint, but very well taken care of. There are iguanas that our daughter was excited to see when we came out of our room and the monkeys visited several times. They have a great happy hour that we took advantage of many times while our child swam in the pool. They also offer brick oven pizza, which was great for the nights that we were tired after our excursions. Lastly, the hotel staff are amazing. Due to its size, the staff know everyone and are super friendly. They gave us great recommendations, helped with anything we asked for and did so leaving us feeling very welcome. They even helped us track down our covid results when they weren't emailed to us. I highly recommend staying here!

The photos are not even close to the real thing. It’s the perfect hotel in Manuel Antonio. It’s small and quiet 5 min walk to the beach or to the park entrance. The pool area is lovely with a great bar man Paulo! Iguanas and monkeys are all around you. The rooms are beautiful and clean. It’s the perfect place. Don’t even think twice. All the staff are so nice and generous and helpful. Even met the lovely owners who were in the area. Go go go we will come back I am sure! Sara

Hi Sara Thank you very much for your review We love knowing that you had a good time in our beautiful hotel, our main intention is that each guest enjoys their time with us to the fullest. We are fortunate to be less than 100 meters from the beach and 150 meters from Manuel Antonio Park, for this reason, we have many animals that come to our property. We hope you visit us again when you have the opportunity. Pura Vida Michael

Loved staying at this Hotel. The people that work there are very nice. Paulo make the best drinks!!! Delicious pizza. You have to get one. Cute, peaceful pool area. Not a big pool but it is still nice. Lot of lounge chairs and umbrellas. Nice small eating area right across the pool. Very good breakfast. Rodrigo during breakfast time, was very nice and courteous. 5 minutes walk to the Manuel Antonio National Park, the Manuel Antonio beach and some restaurants. Some of them: Buru Seaside, Baldi Fresh, Marlin, Donde Alex, La Costa Linda, Morpho’s, some souvenir stores and 2 small supermarkets. They sell soda and water at the Lobby. They do exchange currency. They also have a small souvenir/ gift shop. We stayed at the Standard Room with 2 twin beds. Small room. Love the sliding doors. Comfortable bed and pillows. A few ants in the room, but we are in a tropical place. Not a big deal. Just don’t leave any food or open containers. Small refrigerator in the room. Small bathroom with a shower and a nice shelf to put your clothes there. Safe is also in the bathroom on that shelf. Toiletries. No phone on the room. We stayed at room #1, it was perfect. Steps away from the Lobby (didn’t hear any noise) and steps away from the pool and breakfast area. They printed something that I needed to be printed (lobby) They provide towels for the pool and/or the beach. Drinks, pizza and water can be charged to your room. They can call a taxi for you. Nice reggae music at the pool. Pool is open from 7:30AM to 10:00PM . Michael at the front desk was nice and helpful. We saw monkeys and Tucans while at the pool. At the beach look for Glenn (has a sign with his name) he rents canopies, umbrellas and lounge chairs. We got 2 lounge chairs, a little table and an umbrella for only $10.00 US dollars!!!!! for the day. You can also order food/ drinks from Baldi Fresh a restaurant right across the beach and they bring it to you. Really enjoyed our stay at La Vela Boutique Hotel. Took a taxi to go to dinner to El Avión $3.00 dollars. And another taxi to go to Las Terrazas de Raphael restaurant $6.00 dollars. Also took a taxi to go and get the covid test required by the US to come back home at the Metropolitan Hospital in Quepos, about 15 mns. away from the Hotel i believe that was about $8.00 dollars.

We spent 4 nights at La Vela Hotel at the end of our 10 day Costa Rica vacation. We stayed at 4 different hotels during the trip and La Vela was our favorite. During our stay there were only 3-4 rooms occupied due to travel restrictions and very few travelers in January 2021. We got amazing service. We needed to go to Quepos for a covid test to return to the US and Marcella at the front desk arranged a ride for us. Michael helped us out to get late test results by calling the clinic on our behalf. All of her restaurant suggestions were spot on. She also set us up with a guide to tour MA National Park. We stayed in a garden poolside room which was spacious and clean. Breakfast was okay, no buffet due to covid so we ordered off a menu with 3 choices. We had afternoon cocktails by the pool at happy hour every day, 2 for 1 specials. There were 2 large iguanas hanging out by the pool and monkeys swinging by in the trees. This is one of the best locations in MA, a 3 minute walk to the beach, and many restaurants within walking distance. I would happily stay at La Vela Hotel when I return to Manuel Antonio. A big thumbs up to the whole staff.
