It's a neat place, but it's not as luxurious as other properties, if that's what you're looking for. It was great for us. For viewing monkeys up close, the hotel is perfect. It has most everything you need, but not quite to the level of a full service resort. We had no trouble getting fresh towels and the office staff was very helpful. You'll be expected to provide your own shampoo and conditioner. We stayed in the suite (the only suite, as it turns out) directly above the office. It has 2 BRs, but only a large shower that is shared between the bedrooms. There is another half bath (no shower) off the main bedroom and next to the kitchen. Private, free parking is available in the small lot in the center of the hotel property. If it's crowded, that lot can get tough to manuever; in that case, the street adjacent parking works fine. The pool is small, but adequate, and adjacent to the small bar/restaurant where the food is good (for breakfast at least--that's all I had, but we had it many times). The unit's kitchen is well-appointed with cutlery, glasses, microwave, coffee maker and an old but workable refrigerator/freezer. There is no ice maker. The room is plenty spacious. None of the units have a view of the ocean. I can only speak to the suite, but there are two larger units across the street (also no view of the ocean, but they are on the ocean side of the street.) They have 3 BRs and some mix of a private pool and garaged parking. Our suite was against the busy road, so noise was fairly constant. Between the trucks whizzing by, the large trash trucks clanging early Thursday morning, loud rain storms (in the rainy season), and monkeys apparently building furniture on the roof, your sleep may be disturbed often. Saturday was especially loud with motorcycles speeding by. I imagine the other units experience less noise. The monkeys were worth the experience. They came within 5' of my veranda where I was able to shoot great video and pictures. The hotel has strung blue ropes throughout the property and even across the street to attract them. In the late morning, they were especially plentiful and playful. For the suite specifically, there is no ice maker, no dishwasher, and the kitchen A/C does not work. The latter isn't too big of a deal, but it would be a good thing for them to fix; I suspect they're saving money. The employees are cheerful and very helpful. Over all, I would highly recommend this place, especially for families, but really for anyone. Note that it's best not to waste your time and money at Manuel Antonion National Park. You can see my reviews of the park and beach as well, but suffice it to say that I think you're better off walking to the closer public beach at Buena Vista right down the street. It's a very easy walk, and not crowded during the week.

Photos are with a wide angle lens and are not an accurate description of the overly plastic, unclean property. Ok if you’re looking for a budget hotel; it’s more like a gaudy motel 8. You have to fight for coffee in the Am or shampoo. Rooms reek of mold. Overpriced for what you get.

We chose this hotel originally because of its location right 300m next to the beach. Arriving late in the night, we've been welcomed by the adorable staff. Our room was better than expected. Beds comfortable, room very clean, shower working perfectly. The room. has been cleaned every 2 days. Lot's of mosquitoes but the room are well equipped and you can enjoy sleeping with windows open. The view from the room on the forest was amazing. Wifi was also working well ! The restaurant of the hotel was just PERFECT !! Thanks so much to all the staff, waiters were so nice. It is a very unique experience to enjoy breakfast, lunch or diner amongst monkeys. The two girls cooking the food are very skilled !! Good prices for the area. We stayed one week there. And we would totally go back. Also very accessible, easy to move with the bus from there !

This is a good hotel on a good location, very close to a beach club and within very easy driving distance from the Manuel Antonio Park and the town of Quepos. The only drawback is that there are very limited parking spaces.

We visited Manuel Antonio during a rainy week and the Jungle Beach Hotel turned out to be a great place. The balcony was a great place to sit and watch the rain fall. The small restaurant serves good food at a reasonable price. The location of the Jungle Beach Hotel is probably one of the best things about the hotel. A short walk to the beach (Playa Espadilla Sur) allows you to talk a leisurely stroll to the Main Street that leads to the entrance of the Manuel Antonio park. There is also a bus stop right in front of the hotel which allows you to explore Quepos. Taking the bus to the last stop is where the Quepos market center, marina and cathedral are all located. Finally the owner Chris was a great resource to my family. Ever informative and helpful, Manuel Antonio and Quepos were made accessible for us because of Chris’s help and information. This isn’t going to be a luxurious hotel experience but if you are looking for a local feel and yet be comfortable and clean, this is a great option.
