This hotel is right where you want to be. My family of four stayed with the sanbada for 2 weeks and it was great. The hotel is right outside the national park. Its also has a 2 min walk to the public beach, which is pretty convenient for traveling with kids. If the surf and beach front restaurants are to much for excitement for you, the pool and rooftop pool are relaxing and amazing as well. Being so close to the forest the scenery was amazing from seeing howlers monkeys and toucans from your balcony or coming across iguanas on your way to the restaurant this hotel was great. The staff was exceptional along with the room service staff. The sushi bar was delicious and everyone was very nice and accommodating. A definite return location when we come back to costa rica. Pura vida

The hotel is right next to the national park, so there are plenty of friends like monkeys around! The rooms are nice and the service is great. Close enough to other restaurants and stores if you want to try other things.

First off, there is not a better location to get to Manuel Antonio national park. It's steps away. We spent most the first day in the park,no Monkeys to be seen. Aparrently they were all in the trees outside our balcony. When we got back we sat and watched them play all afternoon. The hotel is beautiful, but remember it is in the jungle. There were Monkeys on the balconys, lizards on the walkways, bats on the awnings, and crabs in the lobby. Yet it was still very upscale. Its a paradise in the jungle paradise. The front desk clerk/concierge Fransesco was always very helpful. He walked me through booking tickets online to the park, called a local guide to meet us the next morning. Then on our last day we had wanted to go rafting but had a covid appointment mid day,so Franseco called the owner of the rafting company and arranged a special pick up to let us raft and drive us straight to our appointment right after. He was above and beyond, asking if we had swimsuits, sunblock, towels, etc. The service was great throughout. I would highly recommend!!!

We did it again! We planned a trip to Costa Rica and the entire trip revolved around our stay at our favorite go-to monkey playground the San Bada! This time we upgraded to the corner suite and omg, monkey heaven! Every morning the jungle calm just past our patio would be interrupted by the sound of trees swishing and swaying and the monkey family would arrive! This hotel is like staying in a National Geo scientist's enclave but with a great buffet breakfast included and iguanas as your eating dates! Toucans flew right past our heads when we visited the rooftop bar and there's awesome views in every direction, from the ocean islands to the rain forest hilltops and that crazy croc swamp nearby. Everything at the San Bada--especially the guaranteed Park Ticket sto the best beach in Costa Rica--always gives us that true exotic getaway with a pool included every time!

Room Tip: 3rd, 4th & 5th floors from center of building east to the end, for best monkey viewings.

Our stay at Hotel San Bada was not remarkable. The room was adequate and had enough space. The mini fridge did not work, but they were able to put a bigger fridge in our room for our use. The beds seem a bit old and sag towards the middle. There were ants in our room upon arrival which got worse throughout our stay. The ants also got into our suitcase which was a bummer. I think our biggest disappointment was breakfast. My ham was like lunch meat and the pancakes are nothing exciting. All the food is prepackaged and not served fresh or even hot and all they have to do is heat it up. The juice is concentrate from the bottle. My girlfriend is vegan and they had a hard time catering to her dietary needs. She only had an option of rice and beans and fruit. The photos online look amazing but do not accurately depict the hotel so don’t be fooled by the high room price thinking San Bada is a nicer option. For the quality of the breakfast and rooms the price should be lower. At least the rooms have AC. The staff is friendly and the location cannot be beat when visiting Manuel Antonio National Park.
