Buena vista was located right on the beach. The food and drinks were delicious. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly! If you are looking for a chill, relaxing beach spot to go to Buena Vista is the place! The tours we did easily were able to pick us up. The only thing I wish I had done differently would have been to plan on staying longer. I hope to return for a longer stay very soon!

This is a place we will definitely return to in the future. There's something special about falling asleep to the soothing sounds of the ocean waves crashing into the shore. The room we were in (802) was above the restaurant with views of the beach the ocean and the jungle. It's a small but we'll appointed room, but the balcony more than made up for the room size.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights as part of our 30th anniversary grand tour of Costa Rica. It is small, with just a few rooms, but clean, conveniently located, and not too expensive. We booked a king room, and were given room 400, which was top floor ocean front. The room was not terribly large, but adequate. Lighting was great, and it had a very large balcony. The only complaint I had was that there was very little counter space in the bathroom. Check in was quick. We had requested some tours via e-mail before we arrived, and they were all squared away by the time we got there. The providers for the tours were top notch. We did the Manuel Antonio Park tour, and the zipline tour. Several restaurants, and a couple of grocery stores are within walking distance, if you don't mind walking up a fairly steep incline. Pretty much, the town of Manuel Antonio is on the hillside, so anywhere you go, you will need to walk uphill one way or the other. There is regular bus service, and plentiful taxi service. The outdoor bar/restaurant was great, with super helpful staff. There was always someone at the beach to help us with chairs. They allow day guests at the beach for a fee, but it was evident that hotel guests got priority. We also asked if we could rent boogie boards, and they brought them to us, and let us use them for free. The beach its-self is wonderful, with a nice wide shallow section of water, great for wading and for children, followed by consistently great waves to boogie board on. We had such a good time doing just that! During our trip we stayed at 3 other resorts, in various places in Costa Rica, all of them much pricier then Buena Vista Beach Villas. If we bring our adult children back for a family trip, this is the one we would bring them to. It is not a glitz, and glamor place, with lots of extras, but it is a solid value. The beach is great. We very much enjoyed our stay.

We spent the last week at at the Buena Vista Beach Villas and it has been phenomenal in everyway: starting with clean, comfortable rooms and unbeatable beach access (rooms 800, 801, and 802 have covered balconies overlooking the ocean, close enough to chuck a coconut and hit the water) but the experience was elevated by an incredibly friendly staff- Simon, Andrei and the team took care of every need and were always a welcoming and helpful presence. The food was the best we had in the area, with beachside service during the day and a lovely nighttime tiki aesthetic under thatched umbrellas lit by warm bulbs. We didn't imbibe- living the pura vida, but the bar appears adept at making beach cocktails. The jungle foliage on site is lush and exotic, home to sloths, birds, and monkeys that seem keen to put on natural and impromptu little shows to the delight of onlookers. The waves were fun for wading and swimming, and there's an ample surfing community and a surfing school adjacent to the resort. The resort's beach is lined with trees, but the lot next door is available to lay out and soak up a looooong path of daily sunshine. Vendors do not come on the grounds but pass by on the beach often, selling all manner of trinkets, cocnuts, massages, cigars, parasailing, horse and boat rides, but are courteous and move on with a "no, gracias." We didn't come intending to stay on site the entire time, but after venturing out a few times (up a hill into town, into the small beach front boulevard, and to hike the nearby national park) we decided that everything we wanted was really right here. As the world slowly escapes the grasp of COVID-19, the tourism industry needs visitors- if you're thinking Costa Rica, I hope you'll see our new friends at Buena Vista.

The rooms have a view of the ocean, the bar and grill provides amazing foid and beach-y drinks, and it is within walking distance of Manuel Antonio Nacionales Parques. The water is unbelievably warm, the staff so friendly and helpful and tge concierge is great in obtaining the covid-test required to enter back into the U S, i will say this property attracts younger patrons as well as provides non-stop photo opportunities of local fauna, i.e. red macaws, capucchin monkeys, orange-backed spider monkeys and howlers. They also had a resident sloth; how could you go wrong!?
