Of all the wonderful things I can say about Villa Roca, I have to begin with the staff. They are so nice and always happy to help with anything from fresh towels to arranging excursions and even COVID testing. We saw more monkeys at the resort than we did in the National Park. This is my fourth time at Villa Roca and many improvements have been made since my last. The resort is under new management and so much progress has been made toward modernizing and enhancing this already very special place. When traveling here from the United States, the US government requires a negative COVID test within three days of returning to the US. The test cost $70 and the resort will arrange to have medical staff come to the property to complete the test. Results are emailed to you within 24 hours and you can forward the resorts to your airline. It’s a very simple process. I hope everyone enjoys your trip here as much as we did. We found it to be a great alternative to Puerto Vallarta.

This is a beautiful property with a stunning view of the ocean. It is in a prime location within walking distance of many restaurants and bars as well as ATMs and convenient stores. It is less than a mile from the beach. I got the sense this is the last vestige of Quepos' gay heyday. The pool and hot tub were great. The room was large and clean but a little long in the tooth, particularly the bathroom. The hotel staff were pleasant but not super helpful planning our days outside the resort, so do your homework ahead of time.

We celebrated our 25th anniversary here. Well maintained, extremely well managed and totally accommodating. From a very welcoming front desk staff led by Jeffrey assisted by Jose, and Gerald. The breakfast here is a must to start the day having eggs Tico style hosted by an always cheerful and smiling Kenia and Rosa in the kitchen. Alysia and Yerilin in House keeping were quick and efficient . Finally at the bar every day - Mauril always ready to whip up your favorite adult beverages and spirits with very on point entertainment! We cannot wait to go back .. thank you Villa Roca for the wonderful memories and all the new friends. See you again soon !

My husband and I stayed at Villa Roca for 4 nights in March 2021, and we absolutely loved this hotel! The views from the rooms and especially from the infinity pool overlooking the rain forest and the ocean are spectacular. Breakfast is served by the pool, and guests get to chose 3 items from a nice little menu - so yummy and fresh! Hot tubs are deliciously warm and bubbly, and while one is overlooking the ocean, 2 of them are "hidden" in the Enchanted Forest - a great place to meet other guests and make new friends :-) We heard from other guests that the hotel is usually VERY lit especially on weekends, but it's currently not very busy due to COVID. The new owner introduced himself to us, and he seems interested in fixing and upgrading various things around the property, including the flaky Wi-Fi (they were working on getting the routers replaced whiles we stayed there). We cannot wait to visit Villa Roca again!

This has been historically a predominantly LGBT (emphasis on G) hotel and a few things to note about the stay. The booking process was convoluted and for a while bookings weren't even open, also was hard to get ahold of the front desk via whatsapp to confirm my reservation. The location, pool, and view are all spectacular and it is currently THE place to stay if you want to be at a mostly gay resort. Breakfast and the staff are also awesome, the people who work at the hotel are all nice and helpful. I will say, the new ownership leaves a lot to be desired, the owner was on the property and generally was loud and obnoxious detracting from the stay. It seems like the owner is wanting to convert this place into more of a 'swinger's' club, which isn't exactly what i'd be looking for in a place to stay in the future, also the rooms are very outdated for the price being paid.
