We ended up remodeling the entire hotel last year! Breakfast is included, we decided not to have schedule, guests that are going to tours frequently needs it before 7 a.m. and other want to sleep until late, we change daily because people love long stays. We added “tamales” typical dish for Christmas in Costa Rica, now we serve them at breakfast every day so our guest can try them. At Pumilio every day is a Holiday! We love celebrating with our guests. Please let us know in advance if you are celebrating your birthday, honeymoon or anniversary, we'll give you a pleasant surprise! Very private setting with only 10 rooms. Service was fantastic, personalized and very quick. Most often few rooms were “in” at the same time so grounds were quiet and semi private. Staff was super friendly. Clean. Very happy with our stay.

Stayed at Hotel Pumilio on 3/5. I reserved my room using my debit card, then paid the remaining balance off on my capital one card. Today I get a call from chase bank asking if I used my debit card at Hotel Pumilio? I explained that I used my debit card to reserve the room, but

Hi! It was a pleasure to have you at Pumilio. But you may be confused, since the day you booked in our website we just charged the 25% of the total cost to guarantee your booking with the card you provide. The day of you check out the final bill was $252.52 with laundry and taxes included, minus the Pre Payment of $59.48, we have the voucher you signed for the difference upon check out for $193.44 with the card you used at the hotel, probably you confuse the card you wanted to charge, but we haven't made any other charges. If you need any documentation of your charges to clarify with your bank please feel free to ask for them at info@hotelpumilio.com and we can sent them via email. We are very serious and careful about our guests credit cards. It was a pleasure meeting you! Best regards!

If you want to be away from the town it's a great hidden spot. It's not a beach resort, but they have a nice pool. Very quiet. Neighborhood around it was worrisome, but once we we're in it's a nice quaint hotel. You have your own outdoor kitchen. Great power shower

Thank you for your kindly comments. We love to make our guests very welcome from the beginning, specially knowing that they are sharing with us their vacation time. Our location path which is a major plus as it is tucked away, at the edge of the jungle, perfect to explore Costa Rica like being pamper at home surrounded by nature, just far enough to be in wilderness but only a skip of a beat away from anything you could ever need in in the area. That's why we named "Mountain & Ocean", between 2 mountains but at Sea level. This rural area around the hotel it's very secure, since the road ends at the waterfalls and don't go anywhere so everyone that it's around leaves here and are very nice people, we really love our community and help them specially through the 23 kids school. The rooms were planned to be spacious and bright with the kitchen outside so our guests can keep contact with nature and avoid the food smell inside the room. They are fully renovated! Looking forward to have you back leaping into happiness at Pumilio! Kind regards!

How far away is the nearest beach by car ?
Yes, we had them arrange taxis to Jaco and Herradura beaches with no problems, even very early fishing. We usually just called the driver directly for pick-up (mostly the same guy, who gave us his direct number), and the one time he was not available we just called the hotel and they had a taxi pick us up within 10 mins...

"Lower level leads right out to the pool...awesome for families with kids. "
"Go for the rooms with balcony as the views are much better and more private than the bttom rooms."
"Second floor suite for added privacy and lovely views. Families had easy access to pool from their patios. Beds a little too firm."
"We actually liked having a room on the first floor due to direct access to the pool, all rooms face the pool and greenery."
"Book the balcony versus the patio suites. More spacious and private."
