We came to Playa del Coco for a visit with friends and came to see Mary and her Pato Loco Hotel/Restaurant and it was the best place by far for her best in the country breakfast!! Nice quaint, friendly atmosphere making it the best experience! Mary is the hardest worker and the warming personality.. we look forward to our next visit to this beautiful country and the best business around.. thanks for everything Mary!!!
Delicious breakfast!! Extrodinary owner - you cannot help but love Mary! She is a one-woman show that does it all!! From her Biscuits & Gravy (served only on Saturday) to her most wonderful Breakfast Sandwich and everything else on the menu, you can't go wrong! If you are in Coco, make a point of having breakfast with Mary. And make sure you meet Simon, too!
Very fun for a stay, Mary is very friendly and accommodating. Pato Loco is a family friendly small Inn, very clean and inviting. Breakfast is fantastic in the morning, and the locals come by in the afternoon for a drink and talk. Great swimming pool for the kids and parents. Quick walk to town or the beach, but a little out of town so it is quieter in the evenings. We stayed with our child both at the beginning and end of our CR trip, and we couldn't have been made more welcome.
fun place , small very intimate , very clean , Mary is a great host and is a pleasure to speak with . very accommodating , made us custom breakfasts ~! we did not have the pleasure iof staying here but understand this is a simple , very clean place that is not a 5 star hotel and not the 5 star hotel price either . Great place and we plan on staying here very soon ~! This is the perfect spot to make your way around coco beach area , rent a car and travel around its fun and the adventure's will be amazing ~!
If you've ever dreamt of what it would be like to retire in paradise, this is the place to begin. It's the hub for the local expat community, and you'll instantly feel welcomed into a warm, friendly circle of people who know the ropes. This is particularly welcome for me, because I travel solo. Within 10 minutes of checking in, I was enjoying breakfast with a group that felt like instant family. After breakfast, I was given a golf cart tour of the area by one of the expats. The social cohesion of the expats here amazed me, with everyone helping each other out like family. The rooms are clean and comfortable, but basic. Still, a bargain for the price. And who goes to Costa Rica to lounge around in a hotel room in the first place? The beach is a 10 minute walk away, with a wide variety of restaurants and bars along the way, as well as shopping. If walking isn't your thing, I would recommend renting a golf cart. Much less complicated and far cheaper than renting a car for getting around the local area. Bike rentals are also available. Whatever you're looking for, whether it's a snorkeling trip, deep sea fishing, a volcano tour or a day trip to Nicaragua, Mary and her friends can connect you with the right people and make sure that you get a fair price. I will definitely be back!…
