I stayed here for one night. The hotel has plenty of parking, the staff/host was very friendly and helpful. The room is ok, reasonably clean, but the decor and how the room is decorated makes the room really quiet dark. So dark that it didn't help when it came to trying to find the mosquito that kept biting me. It would have been great if there had been a mosquito net. As I ended up having to make one myself. Something I'd rather not have to do. Now I fully appreciate that having a mosquito in the room isn't really the hotels fault. But it certainly doesn't help. But apart from that breakfast was good.
Clean and spacious family room (actually more like a two bedroom with a bathroom). Toiletries (including a sachet of Head and Shoulders shampoo was a nice touch). Fantastic breakfast (great choice with an easy to understand menu, a variety of meals to cater for the whole family, including our vegetarian daughter). More importantly, the MOST AMAZING staff, kind and so helpful (helped us with booking our car hire for the holidays, I do not know how I could have done without their help). This family made us feel so welcome on our first night in Costa Rica and recommended a great place to eat for dinner. It felt very safe to park there for the night with our car thanks to the huge gate, and it was easy to get to from the airport.
Awesome family run hotel, Emanual arranged our hotel pick up and our rental car for the week. All has gone without an issue.this is our 3rd day here, so far we drove to th beach and walked into the city center. Everyone has been very helpful and courteous. We are here for 7 days so will write another review when we leave but feel free to send me questions if you are considering staying here. I would definitely return and stay here anytime.
The first thing that is said is, "welcome our house is your house." The rooms were good for the price. I did not use my aircon, but I tried it an worked great. The winds were high so I did not need it. An actual on demand hot water dispenser for the shower. Not an infamous "suicide shower". I can't begin to talk about the staff. Wonderful, attentive folks ready to help at any time. Perfect for those who have a car. About 1 mile from city center. There is a taxi stand just outside the gate.
Our First day, first time in Costa Rica, and what a welcome. The sweetest people we ever met.Apart from the awesome hospitality, the place is located at a very easy to find and convenient location.Very well kept,Neat and clean.Rooms are very basic, but the people are so nice, grocery store next door.we got everything we needed. They let us use their kitchen amd made good breakfast.Gave guidance and helped us out with any questions...I had too many.Always smiling people.wonderful would be too shy of our experience there. They had a family party and they invited us too.It was so sweet.About the rooms...Its very basic but clean.bathroom only has one small soap and 1 pouch shampoo. But I am sure you would get more ,we did not ask.No closets or hooks.(I guess having hooks in rooms is not a tradition in Costa,we did not have them anywhere we stayed.)1 small fridge,a desk, chair and a night stand and portable drawers, and ofcourse a bed. Once again.Best place to start your journey if flying into Liberia. Uber gets you there from the airport for $10.…
I stay here a few times a year when flying out of the Liberia airport. The family run hotel always makes me feel welcomed and that there is nothing that would not help with. If I really needed it they would drive me back home to Nicaragua. There’s nothing like feeling like family and that your comfort and safety is important.
A reasonably priced, basic hotel with decent breakfast and friendly staff. Rooms are a bit threadbare and lacking in some basic amenities (e.g. washcloths, pillowcases) but convenient for overnight airport stay.
You cannot compare apples to oranges so you must know, this is true Tico hotel experience NOT a large mega-million dollar chain. It's small, gated, & authentic Costa Rican family-owned. It's quaint and basic but -rating for that category- it gets a 5 from me. I'm very picky on cleanliness and this place was very clean. The family is sweet and precious and "Mama" even hugged us when she took us back to the airport. Our breakfast was very good and we felt like family. The ONLY con to this place is they have roosters that like to crow from 3:30am on. It's my own fault that I forgot to turn on my "sleep fan" app or I never would've heard the roosters and would've slept like a baby in the comfy, clean (although full-size) bed. If you're wanting an authentic Tico experience or need a place to stay at near the airport I would strongly suggest you (get the fan app or equivalent) and book Villa Hermosa!…
I just stayed at Villa Hermosa last week when I was in Liberia for the Volcano 100 MTB event and I can't say enough good things about this place and the family that runs it! I highly recommend it. They treat you like family and they go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need. They even got up at 3:30am to prepare breakfast for a bunch of us that were racing in the mountain bike event! Talk about going the extra mile to make sure their clients were taken care of!! This family is the true example of "pura vida!" Thanks again for your hospitality!! Hasta la proxima!
We could not be more grateful for a perfect night at this family run hotel. Our flight was cancelled and our airline did not offer accommodations and we found Villa Hermosa online. We can’t say enough about how accommodating and welcoming the whole family was after arriving later at night. The room was clean with good A/C and Wi-Fi. They even had fruits packed for us for breakfast on the way to the airport where they drove us at 4am. We felt part of the family!
