We had moved here from another hotel, was the best decision we had made this trip. The staff here is very friendly, they speak English so they can help you get around and support your visit. The rooms are super cute, clean and pretty new construction. Hot water (which is not so obvious here apparently), clean towels and the cheery on top is the beautiful garden and pool/jacuzzi area.
Close to everything you need, you can walk to many restaurants and supermarkets.
We had the best time, thank you for helping us with the cutting board and salad bowl:))))

Villas Vilma is a nice place to stay. The rooms are clean. The grounds are beautiful. The reception staff are very very friendly and informative. They were helpful in booking tours and providing information about local resources. Older buildings, but well kept. Great value!

I recently stayed at Hotel Villas Vilma in La Fortuna, and it was an absolutely great experience. The property is located just outside the main town, providing a tranquil atmosphere while still being close to all the attractions in the area.

The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-maintained, with patios that have breathtaking views of the Arenal Volcano. Waking up to such a stunning sight was truly a highlight of our stay! Each room also has a comfortable porch, perfect for relaxing after a long day of exploring.

The grounds of the hotel are beautifully landscaped, with tropical gardens and a lovely pool area that provided a refreshing escape from the heat. It's an ideal spot to unwind, surrounded by nature.

The staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive, always ready to help with recommendations for activities and dining in the area. They made us feel very welcome and ensured we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

If you're looking for a peaceful, budget-friendly hotel with great views, excellent service, and proximity to the best of what La Fortuna has to offer, I highly recommend Hotel Villas Vilma. I would definitely stay here again!

Wow what a view (see my pics from the room)! Villas Vilma is on the edge of town on the main road right across from Arenal. We were walking distance from some wonderful local eateries & shops and directly across the road is El Turnito Soda, the food was great and we ate the majority of our meals there B, L, S. That is not to say we didn't tour the restaurants of La Fortuna as well. The villas are gated and we felt very safe, the grounds are beautifully flowered and we daily saw the Agouti and Armadillo as well as a selection of birds (especially hummers) and butterflies. The pool was refreshing but not cold with a nice roofed hot tub. We had 3 double rooms with TV, AC and wifi. The resort is small and therefore homey and it was a pleasure to meet and socialize with other guests (and staff) when we liked. I certainly recommend this location and intend to return. Oh and my fave thing was the hammocks on the front porch for late night wine and swinging to sleep. I must honestly state that yes, I now know the owner but this has not prejudiced my review.

Found this gem searching for "budget" accommodations near volcano Arenal. The VillasVilma exceeded our expectations. Very friendly staff, secure property, comfortable private duplex style villa rooms, convenient location and nice pool and hottub and an absolutely beautiful garden setting.

This was great! So happy we found it. Nice pool area, a trampoline for the kids, and the best soda in the area across the street. Probably our favorite hotel of the trip. It feels very secure. Great owner on the property. We’d definitely come back.

The Hotel Villas Vilma is beautifully kept, clean, comfortable, and friendly. The plumbing works. The shower really has hot water. There is working air conditioning. The housekeeper is a wonder at performing art with the room towels-- an absolute delight! After spending two weeks in Costa Rica, I can say without a doubt that this was the hotel that I liked most.

It is true that Hotel Villas Vilma is small and has no swimming pool. We don't need a huge hotel(!) and we didn't go there to swim. There are several restaurants within walking distance and even more in the town of La Fortuna. There are quite a number of tour guides in the area, and they all will stop at the Villas Vilma, just like they do at the others. This place has a beautiful view of Arenal Volcano (yes, you can hear the volcano sometimes too!) and its own most pleasant garden area.

Finally, the managers speak English well enough to get by... but they really demonstrate that a smile is the most universal language of all!

This hotel was the find of our whole 2 weeks in Costa Rica. a fifth of the price of some other hotels we stayed at during our trip, and less than half the price of other surrounded hotels that weren't nearly as nice, we almost extended our stay in La Fortuna just so we could stay at this hotel a little longer.

The location was great, just outside of Santa Elena, but not too far. The people were nice and friendly, and the room was clean and big. A few ants around the place, but it's Costa Rica, for goodness sake.

The grounds are beautiful arranged with flowering plants and trees, and the Volcano is visible from the rooms, from the pool and from the jaccuzi. And take a look at the picture of the bed. Is that sweet or what?

The only downside is that the jaccuzi was only lukewarm, but I found that to be the case all over Costa Rica.

I would stay here again in a minute.

The little cabin was perfectly located close to the Waterfall, Hot Springs, whitewater adventure and a grocery store. A+ on location.

The rooms and bathroom are spacious. AC works well. We had a large refrigerator, which enabled us to eat breakfast outside overlooking the volcano in the morning.

Has a nice pool and beautiful grounds while still being close to everything.

The WIFU signal was weak and the rooms could use some updating. But the value for the money and the great location made this a place we will return to in the future.

Finally, the manager, Warner, could not have been more helpful and kind. Just a super nice guy who answered all our questions. Highly recommend.
