Detailed Reviews
We stayed here three nights. It is one block away from the Central Park and the Church of San Juan Bosco so the location is perfect and very walkable. The rooms are modest, moderately priced but clean, comfortable and have air conditioning. Your stay includes a breakfast buffet each morning but the biggest perk was free use of the hot springs and pool at their sister property, Volcano Lodge. Traveling out of town about ten minutes towards the elite resorts such as Tabacon and Baldi, an arm band provides you with free use of the facilities at Volcano Lodge and Springs. We pampered ourselves more than once and would stay here again!

We enjoyed our stay very much. Super helpful staff and very good breakfast. Being able to use the hot springs at Volcano Lodge basically paid for the stay. Hair dryer was available on request. In walking distance to many restaurants.

We chose San Bosco Inn so that we could go out to their sister property and enjoy the hot springs. It was all perfect. There was a happy hour at Volcano Lodge that made it all the more enjoyable and we had a good (though expensive) dinner out there in their restaurant. Although we didn't have a car, it was affordable to get out there and back via Uber.
Being in town makes this hotel close to all the best restaurants in La Fortuna. We also enjoyed the pool that was at San Bosco Inn and the breakfast buffet was excellent. Everything seemed very clean and all the staff we interacted with were kind and professional. Great place!

+1
Nothing fancy but this was a very pleasant stay. The front desk attendant, Nedley, was super nice and helpful - even giving us some spanish lessons. We ended up getting two adjacent room for our family of five and it worked out perfectly.
I may have preferred that we stayed in a more quiet private location outside of town but the trade off was we were able to walk into the town of La Fortuna and we were rarely at the the hotel anyway. When we were, there was a nice outdoor table we played cards at and there is an observation deck on the third floor to get a glimpse of the volcano when the clouds allowed it.
The drawbacks are the walls are quite thin and there were a lot of large groups of seemingly unsupervised teenage kids around that made quite a lot of noise. But they were not there during the day and that can happen anywhere so I won't fault the hotel for that.
The breakfast buffet was more than adequate and it was so nice that we could eat and get out to do our activities quickly and early.
We definitely felt safe here. They have a large fence that they close at night apparently but I did not feel concerned at all.
Would recommend if looking for budget friendly stay close to town.

Great stay. Staff upon arrival was awesome. Room was nice and clean and well stocked. Has individual AC and Fan so easy to control temperature. Nice strong hot water in shower. Awesome breakfast with hearty portions. Safe at night they lock gates and put big truck at entrance. In room safe that is easy to set up and open and close. Excellent staff. Did not give them a five only because the beds were stiff as a board of wood and pillows were as flat as an IHOP hotcake. Other than that i would come back with a large pillow and foam mattress

Booked through G Adventures, a basic but very clean hostel (not hotel). There is no sound proofing so often hear groups congregating & chatting loudly outside my room. In hindsight I could have requested for one of the other rooms further back, they might have been quieter. Breakfast is exactly the same thing everyday, wish there was more variety for people like me staying 3 nights (or more). Front desk guy Nedley was very friendly. Location is excellent, right in the middle of town with walking distance to shops and restaurants.

We enjoyed our stay at the San Bosco Inn so much, we ended up coming back there for our last night in La Fortuna. It's located in a central location in town, perfect for going out to explore. The best part was the access to their other property which had a phenomenal pool/patio and thermal hot springs area. We were welcomed warmly by the staff and just had to show our armbands we had been given. It was optional to order drinks and food and there was no pressure. The rooms were clean and quiet, and the breakfast in the morning was delicious. We felt like we were getting the best deal for what we paid!! Would highly recommend this as a great economical option to stay and enjoy the beautiful thermal hot springs of the Arenal Volcano!

For an inexpensive lodging, we were surprised with all the Inn offered, including a pass to there sister lodging to use their pools and hot springs. Breakfast is included and it was served buffet style with both hot and cold dishes, fresh fruit, etc. included in the lodging price. It was delicious.

This hotel is right in the town so quite noisy. The pool is largish and pleasant. The rooms are adequate but the whole feel is of a motel. I wished we had stayed in one of the many hotels outside the town instead where there might gave been views of something other than the parked vehicles and road.

Enjoyed a hotel in town yet far enough away from the strip to not have much road noise. I liked that walking access to downtown in the evening. As others have said, I daily used the hot springs at their sister hotel up the mountain so it was the best of both.
Light could not be shut out of my room but I am an early riser so that was OK. I could hear the room next door if the television or occupants were loud.

From my experience staying at this hotel, you have unlimited access to the Volcano Lodge Pools for the entire duration of your stay. Once you check out, you will no longer have access to the pools, but you may go as much as you like while you are a guest at the hotel. They issue a wrist band at the hotel reception, which is used to verify you are a guest when you arrive at the Volcano Lodge. The pools were certainly a highlight of our stay there!
Hello, of course we will gladly clarify your questions:
1. Yes, you can access the hot springs from 11am to 9:30 pm, after you have registered with us.
2. Yes
3. No, but we can provide you with this service if you leave a deposit, which is returned to you at the end of the day when you return the towels.
4. For visitors to San Bosco, close at 9:30 pm
Best regards,
Gerardo Pérez H
