The Park Princess of the Moon Ecolodge is nestled in a lush tropical plant farm with a great location. This magical place is unusual, with more than 100 types of fruit trees, including many threatened and endangered species. The area is one of the most biodiverse and fertile in the world so wonderful to understand, observe and experience wildlife and nature. The aim is to integrate the principles of permaculture and creating a lifestyle self-sufficient and sustainable in harmony with the local biodiversity. Swimming pools, waterfalls, jacuzzi and many hiking trails on the farm as well as many other activities in the area. This is an interesting place for a honeymoon or a romantic adventure.

The location, the surrounding, the houses, the food, the hospitality and the host exceeded all of my expectations.
William, the cook, manager, guide and friend created an environment that provided access to the real Costa Rica.
Real Costa Rica means the kindness of the people living here, the beauty of the landscape, the richness and taste of anything grown here.
We went on a tour on the property with William. During the tour we got introduced to the huge variety of fruit trees, birds, and herbs growing on the property, went to the water fall and entered the water fall, walked safely guided through the river, ended up at at water basin fed from the water of the river and use the clay from the property for a skin cleansing, washing the clay of with water from the river.
If you look for a place to relax, enjoy, experience and be served like a queen or a king - Princessa de la Luna is your place.
We will come back !

We had a great experience at Princesa de la Luna. William, our concierge, kindly organized for our group of 10 day passes at Baldi Hot Springs, horseback riding and hiking to La Fortuna Waterfall, private chef dinners and breakfasts, a tour of the huge property that included tasting jungle fruit, spotting wildlife, wading through a river, swimming in a waterfall pool, and a mud bath. William was incredible, providing recommendations for where to go out to eat in town and mailing a pair of expensive sunglasses left behind to the United States at no charge. Loved the hammocks everywhere. Fair warning that the property is IN the jungle - we saw frogs and snakes by the pool and lizards and insects in our bedrooms.

I do not know even where to begin. The hospitality and customer service is unmatched by any i've ever experienced in my life. Stephen and William went over and beyond for us. They stayed very late in the evening because we ran behind due to an accident and flight delay and the weather they still stayed and had dinner waiting for us and as to make sure we arrived safley. In the morning they took us on an amazing excursion with a lovely breakfast waiting for us. This place was absolutely beautiful as far as the views and the atmosphere it is a little more roughing it then you're normal place, there's no AC and no TV But it is very cool at night so it wasn't an issue and your not here for TV nor will you energy to. We stayed at 3 different locations during our visit to Costa Rica and this was by far my favorite just from strictly the nice kind nature of Steven and William they did everything they could to book things for us at a better rate than what we could find on our own. Also during the excursion of the grounds to the waterfall he had us taste different plants and fruit it was just amazing honesty I can't even find the words to explain how amazing this place was And the staff. You will not regret it. Also make sure you rent a SUV it is worth the cost difference and you will need it for many of the places you travel to including here. Also bring a small powerful flashlight it will come in handy at night and in the room.

Amazing location, you are right inside a beautiful lush forest, with lots of bird life and lovely walks and trails to a gorgeous waterfall and swimming holes. But the walks around the property are not for everybody, if your not fit , they all are steep walk down and up. The pool area was in sad condition.. William , the property’s Manager was fantastic, super helpful , and honestly cannot flaw his customer service. It’s a hugs property and there are only 3 or 4 people doing everything! However this is a message for the owner of the property. Your have great staff but you need to get some people in there to help with some serious maintenance! Understanding 2020 was tough.. We stayed in Cabin 8, it looked great in the pictures and from outside , huge amount of space .. but.. the place really was lacking a lot of tender love and care..the sheets and blankets were clean but .. a bit yuk and really old .. I had pillow case with holes in them.. the bathroom was .. not great..
If you have your own vehicle it is a great place to get away from
The tourist traps but if you don’t ( like us) it’ gets expensive to hire taxis. All the tourist spots and to get to town will cost you $14 round trip to town and to further out places can be $30-up. But William did organize a taxi to take us to the hanging bridge, the free hot springs and a stop in a souvenir shop.. for $50.. we had no choice and got great service but a bit expensive..All that said I would still recommend staying there but hopefully the cabins will be a bit better condition. The rooms in the main area where the restaurant is May be better.

Your comments are noted and we know we have a big mainenance burden more than most normal hotels ... 8km of trails for a start , sometimes we get behind but we usually catch up quickly , the pool as its in the jungle needs constant attention , water from the Spring no chemicals ... We have great food and the Adventure Tour is unique .. Best to contact us directly ... Best wishes

Perfect place to stay for the medium to large group. Nine of us stayed here for a few nights recently and couldn’t recommend it more (certainly space for many more).

Our host, William, set us up with a few delicious - and reasonably priced - group dinners and breakfasts and also provided nice recommendations for local hidden gems.

A common area overlooking the rainforest and replete with hammocks, swinging chairs, and big, cozy couches was where all seemed to gather between activities to read and listen to the jungle sounds.

Definitely go here.

There is so much to do in this area, and it is so beautiful and verdant, but La Fortuna is a very busy place. Very touristy...
La Princesa stands apart. This lodge is up a dirt road, out of town. It is in jungle, and very peaceful. The accomodations are sweet, maybe a little rustic, which we found so refreshing. The staff is beyond helpful, and will arrange whatever you want to do. William, Luis, and Marisa were so good to us.
Breakfast and dinner are available, of local flavor; filling and delicious.
A car is helpful, but Uber is available
Special shout out to Grete for the best massage ever..highly recommended .

Our group of 6 rented a large room to spend the night during our 2 day trip to La Fortuna. Luis was a great host and told us all about the 2 waterfall hikes on the property which we really enjoyed. Breakfast was $7 per person and included fresh fruits, juice, eggs and pancakes.

Our three night stay in late February came at the end of a month in Panama and Costa Rica. We would have loved to stay longer. The hotel staff led by manager William was terrific. We toured the property with young Luis, enjoyed breakfasts with other guests, and slept like rocks at the end of busy days. William's a fount of knowledge about local activities and booked a really fun zip lining adventure for us. Accommodations are a bit on the rustic side, but it's an eco lodge so a few bugs in the bedroom were expected. When we discovered the hot water and excellent water pressure in the outdoor shower adjacent to our large room, we were in heaven!

Where does one begin? If you are looking for a run of the mill, cookie cutter, tourist experience; Princessa de la Luna is not for you. However; if beautiful views, Mother Nature, natural spring fed pools, fresh flowing streams, wildlife, exploration, welcoming staff, and local flare are more up your alley..look no further. La Fortuna is an absolute gem nestled in the middle of an amazing country. The ecolodge furthers the enjoyment of such a unique, and breathtaking location. Quick access to hot springs, cascading waterfalls, wildlife tours, local swimming holes, and many great restaurants are just a few of the many enjoyments to be had when staying at this establishment. Not enough can be said when complimenting the unique experience of lodging within the confines of this amazing piece of property. Hiking with furry companions, waking up to a choir of birdsong, and interacting with a staff that feels more like family are just a few of the many reasons why you don’t want to sleep on this establishment.

First experience staying at an ecolodge and I have to say it was my favorite stay during my entire trip traveling to Costa Rica. The property manager William was amazing to say the least, he made our stay 10x better and enjoyable. He was so sweet, nice, and so accommodating to my group of friends in regards to our late arrival and so attentive to our needs. He helped set up excursions we were interested in and helped answer many of our questions.
Anyways, with an ecolodge and for the cheap/very affordable price we paid for our stay, you really do get what you pay for such as quality of boarding/room/furniture but it was different experience we enjoyed from your typical hotel.
Really loved the beautiful landscape/view we had right outside of our room on our private balcony and the hammocks. The best part was the peace and quiet of the area and the beautiful sounds of the rainforest. The meals were extra, we had breakfast and it was delicious and affordable! So definitely worth it.
Thank you Princesa de la Luna Ecolodge for an great stay and thank you William for being a beautiful soul making our stay and experience in Costa Rica amazing!
