People’s Square
People’s Square brings with it all the excitement you would expect from the town square of one of the biggest cities in the world. The area around People’s Square and People’s Park is always a abuzz with activity. Oceans of local and foreign tourists flow in and out of the area every day to see grand museums, go shopping and eat at some of Shanghai’s most storied food centers. Shanghai residents, meanwhile, live and work in the many residential and office high-rises. While much of Shanghai stays busy late into the night, this really is an area that never sleeps with glitzy nightclubs keeping people up until the wee hours of the morning.

We stayed here for two nights after disembarking from a cruise ship. It was such a great location, right opposite the People’s Square and on the main shopping street that leads down to the Bund. We took a taxi from the port which took about 50 minutes and were pleasantly

It is hard to say. Our Park View Junior Suite was like a corner room, with both the park and city view (towards The Bund). Personally, I would like to have a park view room at this hotel because I will still have the nice city view (may not towards The Bund). As to the suggestion on getting a best view room, if you are really serious about it, then ask one of the staff members to show you available rooms - they are very accommodating.

Just take the MAGLEV Train to the City Center, it only takes around 6 minutes in total, from there it is easy to get to People's Square. Show your boarding pass and get discount on that ride, as far as I know it is only RMB 40 for reach ride and it will save you a lot of time and money.
